Seems California has it's share of babes and traditionalist.

No sooner had the last Beauty queen from CA. been fired (Carrie Prejean ) and the new one crowned, when we find out, she too is for traditional marriage... but then again, most people are.

New Miss California Also Against Gay Marriage

LOS ANGELES (AP) ―

The newly crowned Miss California USA Tami Farrell, who replaced sacked contest winner Carrie Prejean, makes her first public appearance at a clothing store launch in West Hollywood on June 11, 2009.

The newly crowned Miss California USA Tami Farrell, who replaced sacked contest winner Carrie Prejean, makes her first public appearance at a clothing store launch in West Hollywood on June 11, 2009.

Miss California USA's executive director says the pageant would never try to silence new titleholder Tami Farrell's stance against gay marriage.

Keith Lewis told The Associated Press on Friday that he wants all of the beauty contestants he deals with to be able to voice their opinions as long as they don't violate their contracts.

Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, who was given a second chance earlier, lost her title Wednesday after Lewis said she skipped pageant events while speaking out against gay marriage during unsanctioned appearances.

In a television interview Thursday, Farrell said she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman. But she added: "I don't think I have the right or anybody has the right to tell somebody who they can or can't love."

Prejean says she was dethroned because during the Miss USA pageant she said gays shouldn't be allowed to marry.

I don't get the big hoo-haa over what pageant winners think about anything, really.....And if they do have an original personal opinion, more power to them for voicing it...IMO

But after the whole cluster over Miss CA, makes me wonder....Are pageant winners NOT allowed an opinion or stance on gay marriage? Do they have to be pro gay marriage? That's a bunch of ####### in my opinion. So what if pageant winners are for or against gay marriage...what does their opinion change anyway?

Liefde is een bloem zo teer dat hij knakt bij de minste aanraking en zo sterk dat niets zijn groei in de weg staat

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

I would bet a lot of people.

Miss America's opinion... along with American Idol, Survivor and and even The Backstreet Boys (remember them) all have an audience of people who Do care, what they think and what toothpaste they use.

Sad but true.

Clearly you care Danno - or at least you are forwarding this agenda of giving undue credence to the utterings of those who are irrelevant. Of course, by responding, I'm guilty by association. Hey ho :)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

That is beyond sad. This is venturing into the realm of tragically pathetic. I do agree though. There are certain segments of the population, lets call them lemmings, who are influenced by celebrities. They really should continue off the cliff.

On another note. Good to see Dano post something from an actual news source, and not WorldNetDaily.

Sure I post occasionally from WND from time to time but my sources are wide and varied.

NOt sure why you would dismiss a Celebrities opinion out of hand, I guess their views are as valid as yours or mine, I would judge them "by" their opinion... not their vocation.

I don't dismiss celebrity opinons out of hand, I dismiss them because they are barely qualified to breathe, let alone comment intelligently on politics, science, etc. Please tell me you're not getting your political commentary from Hannah Montana Danno :P

Now if there was a celebrity, such as Greg Graffin from the band Bad Religion, i'd listen to what they had to say in a the field that they are qualified in.

On the one hand you deplore the fact that people sensationalise media personalities and on the other you want to lend credence to their opinions on subjects way above and beyond their field of competence. Which way is the die going to be cast Danno?
