The sign at the entrance to our subdivision recently had the following posted:

Please obey the speed limit. Watch out for our children and other wildlife.

I think they meant "the" or nothing instead of "other", because we do get a lot of turtles and herons and armadilloes and things crossing from pond to pond.

So I was at church the other day, and inside the order of worship leaflet was a handout encouraging all the men of the church to come out "to a shooting Spree". Here are some of the contents:

####### Cheney is NOT invited!!!!!

Must promise not to shoot anyone... for any reason... Even if he is your attorney.

After we have satisfied our desire to shoot things we will depart Hyatt's and informally grab some lunch somewhere.

Unacceptable excuses to not attend:

"My wife won't let me"... That's a tough one, grow a spine and convince her.

The ####### Cheney one is hilarious! I'm sure I've seen hundreds of funny ones myself, but I'll have to think about it some before posting.

I know! In fact, my husband stated that must be why the pastor didn't include it in the general announcements. He talked about everything else and then said "And there are some other announcements in your handouts which I won't go into here."

This is just my default church, though, since I can't find one that "fits".

I thought that was funny too.

On a billboard downtown:

"Considering weight loss surgery? Visit the experts."

Well, obviously.

Oh, but the guy who operates out of the back of his parent's van behind the McDonalds gives such great financing rates!

Please assume if I'm going to pay someone to put knives into my tender, succulent flesh I expect them to be a surgery "expert" rather than, say, an "enthusiast" who watches the Discovery channel a lot.

"Your mom is in my head right now, and she's saying don't do that."

"For Sale. One Parachute . Used only once, never been opened. Small stain."

There are 2 trucks always parked down on our waterfront.. one is "the flag guy" and the other is a nacho /burrito truck.. no one is ever around, so I have NO idea #1 how they keep in business or #2 if they are legitimate or just a front for "another" form of illegal business.
