Hello!

I just got my interview letter today for my AOS ON July 24. Anybody in here had their interview done in Houston? Just want to know your experiences.

Thank you for your replies. :blush:

In the menu bar (under the people photos) you can click on Reviews:Embassy/USCIS. Then pick Houston from the local office drop down. You'll find comments from people who have interviewed there.

Our interview was smooth and quick. We weren't back more than 10 minutes and he was approved before we ever walked in the door. We brought in two binders of documents, one originals and one copies, all set up exactly the same. She even said we had too much documentation and sent in more than required. She asked us to verify our information was correct and that the signatures were our own, on the documents submitted. Asked us for anything else showing evidence of our relationship and we showed her our daughter's birth certificate. Very relaxed atmosphere, we laughed and looked at photos and she said "Your approved!". She reached under the desk and handed us the already signed letter, saying he was approved and then she walked us back to the front.

Everyone was very nice and we were pleasantly surprised by how well the whole process went.

I posted this on the Feb 2009 thread... But I am posting the same thing here for your fyi.

===========================================================

I had the interview this morning at 9am and got approved..

My husband and I woke up and left home around 7:45am to beat the rush hour traffic. On our way there, he was like "Why does my car radio say 6:45am?? Is it time for daylight saving again???" Lol.. my software engineer-braniac husband accidentally messed up the time on the alarm clock while he was setting the alarm the previous night. So we got the interview place around 7:15 for an interview that was scheduled to be at 9:00am. We then drove around the neighborhood and found a Denny's to have breakfast. After killing some time, we drove back to the DHS office and had the usual security checks (Note to Ladies: Do not wear a bra with underwire). We checked in at 8:30 and were called to the appointment at 8:55am by a nice African American lady.

She took us to her office and asked us to take an oath. Then she asked me for evidence to show that we were married and living together. So I gave her a copy of our apartment lease, joint checking a/c, joint savings a/c and Life Insurance. She returned some of the documents that I had mailed in with the original application saying that they were extra and that she didnt need them. She asked my husband to tell my DOB and asked him if he did anything special since my birthday was a few days ago. She then asked me to tell her my husband's DOB and Place of Birth. She then asked my husband how he became a citizen and he told her "... through family since his grandfather was born here". She then wanted to know if he had sponsered anyone else before for a green card.. She then wanted to look at our wedding album and she loved it... So she called another immigration officer and they both were ooohing & aaahing over our album. She then stamped my passport, took out my I-94 and EAD.

The interview lasted about 15 minutes and it was a good experience... As long as you take all your documentation, it should be fine.
