I got very good prices for this summer's trip to Ukraine on the Aerosvit website. We use JFK airport. Check their prices and then see if you can get another flight to JFK from SFO.

I always use Alladin travel in NC. They have a great track record of customer service, and a 24 hour emergency number in case something goes wrong. I have needed it a couple of times over the years in Europe. PM me if you want a contact name and number.

Check cheaptickets.com. They've got SFO<->KBP return fares 06/30/09 - 07/10/09 for $665 ai.

It truly must be with the help of divine intervention that after entering into this well-defined bureaucratic process, we were blessed with the expected outcome within the predefined timeline. Praise deities!

Danno originally posted this travel agent: Natasha at (813) 228-6156. I have yet to see any internet site beat the prices she can quote for air fare to the FSU. She speaks English and Russian. I've used her 3 times to Russia (wish I'd known about her before), and every time I saved hundreds over the internet sites. I also have a friend that's used her to Ukraine.

I currently have enough frequent flyer miles to not worry about paying for a while, but what kind of prices have people here gotten from her?

I've used www.bookingbuddy.com , it searches all of the travel sites which eventually connected me with www.cheaptickets.com . I think I'm going to call that Natasha gal tomorrow since I'm running into some steep prices trying to get my SO over here.

For example, I usually see prices from San Francisco run anywhere from $1,100 to $1,500 on the internet sites, depending on the time of year and day you want to fly out. With the travel agent I mentioned (sorry, I don't remember the name of her agency) the highest I've ever paid was $950, and the cheapest was around $850. It's good to keep in mind though that these tickets are non-refundable and carry hefty re-booking fees. You'll usually have more than one connection too, which is a pain but worth the money saved imo.

I've usually found the best prices by going directly to the airlines' websites. The last time I looked for flights from Moscow to KC, I ended up booking on the American Airlines website. I did call Natasha, but her best fares were still higher than I could get directly from American.

Interesting. I fly from the West coast, so maybe she gets better rates from the West coast than the Midwest.
