Sofiyya....we need more nonpolitical threads where we can just shoot the breeze. There's way too much polarization that goes on whenever these threads come up. If we can get all the regulars to agree, I'd be all for having a moratorium on politically centered threads.

Sure - every thread has whine potential. Its just a shame that the basis for the whine in question isn't present here.

I disagree that disagreement always constitutes a whine, or that this thread is not an attack on conservatives, and for good reason. Steven has become a knee jerk reactionary for attacking conservatives. I believe that a lot of hsi anxiety has to do with him coming to terms with the realization that he made a bad choice by voting for Obama. But his buyer's remorse is misdirected. He needs to look inside, not lash out at others. We may represent what he fears, but deal wth that, not waste time making liberals look insane by trying to make conservatives look insane.

Again you need to practice what you preach... I agree with some of what you are saying but you clearly have issues with what you consider a liberal mindset. For example suggesting that everyone that voted for Obama has or should have "buyer's remorse" is self-centered & perhaps self-righteous. Start denouncing the right wing mindset here on VJ & you'll have credibility, but until that time you are just being a hypocrite. As for conservatives vs right wing I for one do make a distinction between the two; in my mind right wing is even farther right than conservative (but not as far right as the reactionary/extremist group).

I apologized for my first post to you, yet you have never once even acknowledged your own blatant hypocrisy. If you have a burning hatred of what you define as a liberal (a term consistently abused on VJ, but that's a different topic) then embrace your hatred & let the rhetoric & hateful comments flow like you've done so many times in the past. To sit there & denounce Guano's posts, while staying silent about all of the posts created from the other side of the spectrum (and contributing to them in many cases) is textbook hypocrisy. The differences between you and I is that I am capable of admitting my mistakes, I have at times agreed with the right & have also denounced comments from the left when they have gone too far. Show me any examples where you have done any of these things.

Hi Scott....sorry. Didn't mean to ignore your post. A Right Winger is someone who leans to the Right, ideologically. The labels Conservative and Liberal are far less accurate when trying to describe people. Someone may have a Conservative or a Liberal position on something, but rarely will you find someone whose positions fall lock in step with one ideology over another.
