Wow, republicans hate helping impoverished countries more than they love war.

The United States is an impoverished country. We're up to our ears in debt - our national debt

to GDP ratio is worse than Pakistan's - worse than any country the IMF is supposed to help.

We should stop ALL FOREIGN AID - immediately - until we solve our own problems!

But that would make us *gasp* Isolationists

I do agree with the bolded statement. A government should take care of it's own citizens first. Then and only then should they look to help others.

We could start with Israel. Oh wait...but then they would be defenseless. Foreign Aid isn't just for humanitarian purposes and even when it is, the repercussions of not helping can lead less stability in this world. Most of our Foreign Aid is rooted in geopolitical objectives.

No, an isolationist wouldn't be involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. That would just mean we help ourselves before we help others.

Halliburton got to Obama and check out the rising price of oil. He's turned into a war hawk to justify his massive spending. He's said it before if we can spend billions on Iraq why not billions more on Iraq? He's the new LBJ with similiar results.

I am conservative, no doubt about it. Am I angry? Yep. I am angry that the reps no longer represent my views and have sold out. FYI, I identify more with libertarians than any other group. Until the reps return to their roots that is the way I will vote.
