police report question

hi everyone,

just a quick question. i was wondering if i could go and apply for my police certificate even though i haven't received NOA2 yet. reason I am asking is i am unsure if i will get a form in the packet from embassy that needs to be filled out or is it just a report from the individual station you go to. i just want to ge the ball rolling on this as it can take weeks for a police report to come through in ireland

Im in same problem i hate hate hate this system of getting police record ###### its my 8 th day to get this PCC and still nothing so tommorow im going to US EMBASSY to get that form dont know what they will do OH YEAH but im taking my approval notice copy with me i hope they will give me somthing to get this F**** police record from M** F*** SAUDI GOV. im sorry bcz im soooooooo pissed on that im stuck at NVC .

sorry to hear that ur having trouble getting police report. like we dnt have enough ####### to be dealing with with going through this process. i am afraid that i will end up having the same difficulties you are having, that is why i want to get the ball rolling with it.

my fiance went to the local Superintendant (Kerry) and got it without the packet 3, but he did take his full application with him, including a copy of our NOA2. It took about 3 weeks to arrive. He says they didn't ask to see any of his paperwork at all, even though he had it with him. It wouldn't hurt to try! He also says make sure you ask for a "police certificate for visa or immigration purposes".

I got mine without showing any paperwork at the police station. I just explained it was for a US visa and I needed to bring ID etc, it's free too. Of course, they put the wrong birth year on mine, made me two years younger, and I didn;t spot it till the CO pointd it out at the interview.... doh! See my timeline for details.

Thanks for sharing ur age mistake story and my poilce department making me 1 year younger bcz of worng data entry but my all other documents shows my coorect date of birth im feeling little ease with that ... thank u so much

im going to go ask about it today, i hope they will issue me one without NAO2 etc. i am just being over cautious, i just want police report ready for when in terview comes around. I need to have a Garda Clearnce done for my job every 3-5 years, so i know how long it can take.

Do you know if the Police Certificate and Garda Clearence the same thing.

Just keep in mind the police cert is only valid 6 months so don't get it TOO early

I think the background check for clearance and cert are same, but the piece of paper you get from the garda loks different. But I never had a clearance done, so not sure.

I went to US EMB today and they gave me request letter for getting police clearens certificate from police thank god now im feeling little better hope i will get it soon .

just a quick update on obtaining police certificates in ireland. I went down to police station and explained what i needed and the Garda (policeman) showed me the paper that gets filled out and on it its states the person(me) needs to have a letter from the embassy in order to get it filled out so, so much for me trying to be organised and having it ready for the next phase. He said that the letter was so the office giving the info will speed up the process as they will know it is an urgent request, that is all.

he let me keep the sheet of paper and it looks very basic. it asks for name, address, how long one lives there, previous address and at the end there is a space to write if there were ever any convictions for the above named person and space for garda to sign. that is it.

hope this helps anyone else about to go do the next stage......
