Last Week was Horrible. This Week NOA 2

Hi Everyone.

Last week Tuesday, I was on a last minute flight to Bogota Colombia to be with my 15 month old US Born Son who was in the hospital suffering from severe respiratory problems. I had to borrow money to get down there immediately and be with my wife & son. On Friday he was finally released and I paid the hospital bill which came to a total of $2000.00 US Dollars (hence the reason I borrowed the money).

Today, I called VCS to find out the status of my Petition I-130. You see, we had received a RFE on April 9th, and I sent them everything back immediately. They received it on April 16th. Their initial letter stated that it could take anywhere from 14 to 60 days to receive an answer from them advising me of their decision. So today (exactly 60 days later) I called to get an update since the website has not changed. The officer that answered the phone told me "Sir you should be receiving the approval letter any day now”. I said "WHAT!!!" To which she replied, "Yes sir, your case was approved and sent to the NVC on June 10th".

Chills just ran up and down my spine. Can you imagine that? On June 10th we were with our son, asking God to please help us get him home soon. God has answered our prayers. Although we still have some ways to go, I feel like a load has been lifted off my chest. To all of you going through something similar, please hang in there. I know how tough it is to be separated from your loved ones and how hopeless you can sometimes feel. But I'm finally starting to see a spec of light at the end of the tunnel, and I have hope that the spec of light will soon overwhelm my very existence.
