Hi Everyone,

I am new here and this is my first post.

I received my I -360 prima facie determination on January 12, 2009. It is due to expire on July 12, 2009. I requested my lawyer to file a request for extension but she wanted to charge me $875 just for that. I have already paid her $ 2800 in legal fees. I asked her shouldn't that be included as part of the legal fees i paid you and she said no. I also pointed out that the fees for the I-360 has been waived and yet you wanted to charge me $875. I dont have any additional money to spare so I sent the written letter requesting for an extension of my prima facie on May 28, 2009 via Fedex. I am getting worried now because I have not gotten any receipt at all confirming that they indeed recieved my request. I checked the CRIS website and there are no status updates.

Please help. What should I do?

u just request an extension but u have to resend the green letter they sent you with your request it will be easier and faster.

a lot of vawa cases are rejected if there isn't enough evidence of abuse.

many immigrants abuse it in an attempt to stay in the country and they are heavily scrutinized by bcis and the cases take a long time.
