We're not even close to this point yet but when we get to the adjustment of status after we get married will my new wife need to gather all of the former documents that she used in the visa application at the consulate such as another official copy of her birth certificate? I'd like her to get it while she is still in Brazil.

That would be a great idea. Get a few copies (or actual documents) and you can send them as needed.

That way you will always have an original doc, and some copies for future use.

My hubbie brought two copies of his BC, one was attached with the translation with the AOS docs. We have another one at home if needed in the future.

Let me correct "originals" not copies. And I think he left another one with the embassy.

yes, get the official documents together and also get them translated there, it will be cheaper.
