hey not to be negative at all, i have been on this board for some time now, not as much as you. (i see your noa1 date and the worste date it could be) i really want to know what does one person gain from calling anyone? I see on this board people call service centers then we have a debate on this board for days on end about, "this person said this, the other said that". Now people call congressman as well. I have not seen anything come from a congressman or anyone that is positive or information that we dont know already on this board. So save yourself the aggrivation, your headaches, and just be pissed. I understand you are asking for the number b/c someone got an noa2 before you should have b/c you had one recalled. Are you pissed and mad as hell...yeah you are. if it happened to me would i be? Yeah i would be freakin crazy and so pissed. Honestly making phone calls to anyone doesnt do any good. At least i who have been watching this board for close to 4 months have not seen one phone call make any difference to anyones case. i could be wrong but why put yourself through the constant "on hold" for the person on the other end to say "well you have to wait 60 days, we are doing everything in our power to make this smoother". i am not slamming on you at all for asking for the phone number i feel your pain, really im not going to bullsh** you, i dont know what you are goin through except knowing it sucks it sucks for you. just try to relax as much as possible and keep waiting.. phone call , senator no senator no phone call your petition will be approved in the same time. it is out of your hands. sorry man

Much of late about being able to speak directly with the service centers via the NCSC number. It is not the case. The (800) 375-5283 number is the NCSC which is a call center ONLY.

Service Centers

The four USCIS Service Centers in Vermont, Texas, California, and Nebraska were established to

handle the mail, file, data entry, and adjudication for approximately 65% of applications received by

USCIS. Service Centers do not conduct interviews with customers and are NOT staffed to handle

walk-in applications or answer questions. (This includes phone calls, faxes and emails. The only center that still offers email is CSC)

Telephone Centers (NCSC)

Through the National Customer Service Center’s four telephone centers (these are also based in Vermont, Texas, California, and Nebraska) USCIS provides toll-free nationwide assistance to customers calling from within the United States. Customers can access live assistance from 8:00AM until 6:00PM, Monday through Friday; they can access recorded information (including information about the status of their specific case) 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Both live and recorded service is available in English and Spanish. Callers from outside the U.S. can access more limited information through a separate toll number.

You can find me on FBI

An overview of Security Name Checks And Administrative Review at Service Center, NVC & Consulate levels.

Yeah, they won't tell you anything concrete, but some people still find comfort in calling them and getting someone to talk to. Odds are they will give people the default answer, but still...

It does help in some cases, other cases it does not. According to some posters in reference to the expedite request, the call center people actually encouraged them to do the expedite request when it is now clear that the USCIS never had any intention of honoring the expedite request in this NOA2 situation. Essentially, this implies the call centers have no idea what is happening in reference to the NOA2ers.

They suck and they spread misinformation.

But I just can't say this too much, if it helps ease your mind, call them and also pressure your representatives on this.

Thanks, I was doing exactly that but at the end pressing in 3-3-1 in stead 3-2-1, and only got the USCIS Customer Service person that only said the only info we have acess to is your petition was approved on March 23. Was told repeatedly by them one can ot call the Vertmont Service Center, only write them. Thanks, Rick

I 'm coming to the same conclusion, i.e., doesn't make a bit of difference and adding self-torture via wasted time and effort only adds salt to the wound. Rick

I would call them everyday.

Oh, I know. If I were the petitioner, I'd call everyday. I guess I'm lucky I'm the beneficiary and they will rarely give us information... Otherwise, I'd be on the phone all the time.

not exactly true. I work for a Congressman and we have, in fact, expedited a number of cases. Usually a Congressman can't help speed up a normal case and avoid a wait time (hey, i'm waiting for mine!!!), but if you have any kind of problem or unusually long delay, they can often get to the bottom of it and get the ball rolling. Your Member of Congress and Senators are in office for 1 reason: to serve you. Use them!

Very good points! I got all of my congresspeople involved in this, I have no idea if it had any effect but I'm inclined to believe it did. My case is now moving. It will not hurt to put pressure on all of our representatives at this point. It is their duty to help us in times like these. If we all put the pressure on together, we may have more of an effect. I understand the frustration, mainly mine is with the USCIS in dealing with their lack of any transparency towards American citizens.

Luis doesn't have a congressman as PR is part of the US but has no representation, we have no one to call to do anything about our case at all, so we're hoping our case won't be a troublesome one. So far our delays have been due to IMBRA, but they seem to be working on it so, so far so good (case wise 'cus I'm loosing my mind :P).

Not true. You have a Resident Commissioner in PR, which is basically a Congressman without a vote in Congress. He does have an office just like any other Member of Congress, and he can advocate for you guys with the USCIS. His name is Luis Fortuno, and his contact info is as follows:

District Office

250 Calle Fortaleza

Old San Juan, PR 00901

Phone: 787-723-6333

Fax: 787-729-7738
