Hello,

I filled I130 on 9/9/2008; I received NOA1 two weeks later, on the beginning of March 2009 they requested more evidence regarding the marriage - may wife was pregnant at that time), so we mailed everything we could thing of on March 25th, the package was delivered on April 1st. Now we have a beautiful 2 months old son but my wife and son live in Jordan and I live in Minneapolis and I HAVE NOT RECEIVED NOTHING REGARD our I130 application.

I call California Office every 2 weeks; I get the same exact generic answer: “we are doing a background check on you, call us after 60 days.”

I’m not sure what to do next. I contacted my Congressman- not sure what they did, if they did anything, hired a lawyer but no promises.

Please any suggestions and advices would help, thank you all.

Hey,

I try to be as helpful as i can. Just so you know many get stuck in Additional processing known as AP or AR additional review. If you want more info just search that and you will get many results ...

it can happen at any point in the process so dont be upset it happens to most MENA people. MENA --- middle east north africa subsection of VJ

so basicly my answer to you is get your elected officials involved ask for help around the ladies in MENA would be more than willing to help you (as i am sure so will the rest of vj)

Inshalla you will bet out of name checks soon ... I hope some of the other ladies (gents) with experiance in these matters help you

Follow up with your congressman and see if they got an answer. DO call every 2 weeks. DO NOT let your file get lost in the blackhole of USCIS, keep them on it by calling frequently.

Im sorry that is all I can suggest. Keep on your congressman also, they have a direct line to the service centers and can get straight answers besides "call back in 60 days".

Good Luck to you and your family.

Is there a way for you to go live with your wife and child while you wait?

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
