OK weird question. I filed a joint I-751 on Tuesday and I got a NOA and extension letter a week later. They also cashed my check in like 3 days. Now I changed my address a while back and filed my AR11 online and the I865 or whichever that form is. My previous address was my Mother in laws and she got a phone call from some unknown number and some guy was asking for me but he won't give his name or return number and then hung up on her. Weird thing is I gave them my cell phone number to call if they wanted to talk to me. Does anyone know if USCIS call to verify any info? Plus it's weird to call a number thats not on my application. I haven't received my Biometric letter yet. I am kinda anxious to know if I should call them or I dont even know it was them. Any sensible comment will be much appreciated. Thank you !

I'd take odds on it NOT being USCIS. How unprofessional. If someone called and asked for you, told you weren't there and then hung up, I wouldn't think twice about it. Obviously don't want to get in contact very much.

Much more likely, you put your mother's phone number on some paper that telemarketers are using. Naturally they won't waste their time asking for a call back, as you're not going to do that.

I suppose thats what it is...maybe a tele-marketer or somebody. Thanks !

Seriously doubt it was the USCIS, and I have never heard of anyone on VJ getting called by the USCIS. Definitely a telemarketer.

I suggest everyone to put their phones on national don't call list as it prevents telemarketers from calling you and they will penalized if they call you.

I never heard of USCIS calling in normal circumstances. Well, there was one post long ago on VJ about a person removing condition and USCIS called

him to check everything was ok. He told us that, he and his step daughter don't get along well and may be she called USCIS about him.

Hope it helps.

USCIS DO CALL.

I got a phone call from USCIS for my citizenshipcase. It was delayed by 20 months and i went through everyone, finally office of CIS OMBUDSMAN help me.

After i file complain with them ( my cell phone was chaged since the time of application, i gave my new cell phone number to cis ombudasman office), with in 3-4 weeks USCIS gae me a call and said my citizenship application was approved and i should recevie next appointment ltter in mail.

SO don't be suprised, they do call, and yes if your are not there they don't have tons of time to ask your where about. Also they are govermnet agency , you should not expect any good treatment from tehm.
