Hey Everyone,

So I am working on finishing up the whole package and getting it sent out. However, I do have a few quick questions:

1) As far as the copy of the birth certificate, is it as simple as walking in the other room to the copier and copying both sides of it as I have the original stamped/notarized one, or should I go to the courthouse and request an official copy as well with a fresh notary/stamp on it?

2) If my work history exceeds the lines that they give you on the G-325A, I am assuming it is acceptable to just continue the list and finish answering the question a second page, labeled clearly as to what the second sheet is?

Like, I said small details, but they may make the difference, that I am not sure of. Thanks again for your help.

1. yes

2. yes (make 4 copies (1 for each sheet of the 325).

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Thank you for your quick response. So, as far as the copy of the birth certificate, I will take the yes as it being as simple as making a copy myself and NOT having to go to the courthouse to ask for a new official copy? Thanks again. Much appreciated.

YES. Regular, plain old kinkos photo copy or scanned and then printed is sufficient. Or, to restate, NO, you do NOT have to go and get a "certified" copy. Photocopy is fine.

Actually, for just about every document (birth cert, police cert, marriage cert, divorce cert.......etc) that you mail in for the entire process you submit photo copies, and have the originals on hand to show them if requested (usually hand carried at an interview).

i think they prefer the long version of a birth cert. if you have that then yes photocopy front and back and send with the packet. you will want to give the origional to your SO to take to the interview. Or you can copy all pages of your passport to send in the packet.

the G325a is 4 pages. you and your SO need to fill out those 4 pages each and each sign all 4 pages.

correct on that - copy is sufficient, no notary needed. (however, be prepared with originals if they ask)

Don't forget that if the back of your Birth Certificate is blank, write on the back of your copy that the back side was blank, 'cus they do ask for front and back copies.
