You're not two months behind. You're actually right on track. On April 30th (a month and a half ago) they were processing petitions from the end of November. So if they kept up that pace they should be up to the middle of January, which is where you are. I wouldn't freak out just yet. Yours is coming.

I apologise I scrolled down to the K-1 bit a little quick. I spoke to the uscis women and she said they were still on novembers when I spoke to her on friday which why I'm slightly concerned.

Another example of the customer service agents having no idea what they are talking about.

The only information they can give you is what we can all see on the website. She probably looked at that and misread it as today they are working on November.

And not to scare you but:

Technically I think they are only supposed to give you the date of the oldest petitions they are working on. Until they've completed ALL November petitions they are supposed to still be telling you November. We know that's a load of b.s. since there are people here who've been waiting since July, if not earlier. They clearly don't have a running list of what ajudicators are working on now. There isn't even a way for the two to communicate.

Aww I'm sorry, I really hope your petition comes through very soon for you. I can only imagine how frusterated you must be right now. Hopefully VSC picks up soon now that it seems most of the H1B's might be out the door.

We got our NOA1 on November 12th 2008 and still never heard a word from them yet, and since the website is "broken" we just get an error looking up any information with our receipt number. We called in April and they said our forms where not lost and they where pending, but I am wondering if I should call again... we are still waiting at over 7 months now. I am so confused over the update....

Thanks friends

What they say and what they mean may be two different things.

What they should have said is - November petitions are the oldest ones they're working on. This is what their posted processing dates reflect as well - generally it is 6-months ago for I-129f petitions.

I would call or make an Infopass to get an inquiry going on your case as your NOA1 is out of their processing range, even with this update. Can't guarantee it will do anything but its worth a shot for sure.

I just called and told the lady off. I am 336 hours from my 6 month mark. I told her she has to come up with a better excuse than "you are in the processing time." She also told me I had an RFE! Liar! I said I don't have any RFE! She put me on hold, and forgot the RFE story. She told me she can't do anything for me until 2 weeks. Soooooooooooooo we'll see. She wouldn't give me a supervisor or anybody. :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

The fact of issue is that VSC shouldn't need us to go to an infopass interview or follow up on cases. Would it be unreasonable for them do things correctly. Being a government service you would of thought so. But I guess they will carry on making people's lives full of frustration and misery...

Cereza, that's where the Infopass might come in handy. At mine, they issued a formal service request even though I still had 3 weeks until the 6 month mark.

Hi all,

As we can see VSC is way behind CSC...

Why is that? What might be going on?

Can't / Won't they do anything to speed up? Does anybody know what usually happens when a Service Center gets so "behind schedule"?

November 25th K-1's still being processed is too bad... Jeez... :(

Tks,

Lu

The service centers both flop back and forth. Last year VSC was the faster one. Generally what they do at some point, though I`m not sure at what point, is transfer some of the load over to the other service center to try to help balance things. From the look of VJ at the moment it looks like VSC has been receiving more petitions than CSC so thats probably what has put them behind, as well as processing the H1B`s for the deadline. The date they show is usually the date of the oldest petitions they are working on, though there may be some stragglers left behind :(. Right now it looks as if some of the February petitions at VSC are getting through, so who knows how long things may actually take for you :(

What H1B's are they processing ... doesn't CSC also have these ... amazes me that work visas take priority and receive less review than family visas

Oh, I completely understand, I wasnt happy either. CSC did get them as well, but they were already processing so fast that all it did was knock us back to a more acceptable timeframe. In March CSC was approving withing 30-60 days, the H1B deadline came and they came to almost a complete standstill (not quite complete but in comparison it was about 36 approvalséwk for March, 36 for all of April and like 14 for May based on VJ) until very recently. I think CSC got hit with a lot of the premium processing H1Bs where people paid to have it go through faster, where VSC may have gotten just normal petitions, though this is just an assumption on my part based on the stats on the berkley igor`s list. During that timeframe VSC was still behind but they were still pumping out fairly consistant numbers of approvals.

The H1Bs they were processing were the ones that would be included in the Cap of 64,000. They only start accepting them as of April each year, which seems to be when things really slow down for one or the other. It appears, based on historical trends, that the one that was already behind a bit gets even worse off. Hopefully VSC will shift a few more to CSC as CSC is now at the Fiscal year 09 target of 5 months, to help get VSC to that target too.
