K-3 approved and forwarded to consulate

Hi VJ friends

we applied for K-3 visa . our 129f and I130 both got approved on 5th may.

After that we recieved a letter from NVC that within a week our 129F petition will be forwarded to visa issuing post overseas.(That is delhi consulate)

dont know on which date they forwarded it to consulate but we got this letter on 11th may. And havent yet got any letter from consulate till now.

Should we be worried or enquire about it from consulate? How long usually it takes for them to contact beneficiary?

Anyone in same situation?

We are following CR1 but still waiting for them to contact .I think we need to inform them that we will not attend k-3 interview because we are following CR1?

You can call NVC at 603-334-0700 and speak to an operator (press 1 and then 5) . Give them the USCIS case number for the I-129f. They'll give you the NVC case number. You can then call DOS at 202-663-1225 (press 1 and then 0) and give them that case number and ask 1) if the package has reached the embassy yet (it should have) and 2) if they've mailed out the next packet to you.

I don't think it's necessary to let them know though. It might be nice to send a letter with your case number and info saying that you're pursuing the CR-1, but I think that just ignoring the K-3 will also do the trick.
