In May I filed our K1 petition. I have a cosponsor since I am unable to sponsor him myself. I wam wondering about the approval rate for co-sponsors vs. regular petitions, ppl who dont need as co-sponosr. I am wondering if the approval rate is the same. I worried that the consulate will look differently at my case becasue I am not able to sponsor him myself, and would they then be biased because of that. Would like some input on this... thanks!

I don't think it really makes a difference in approvals. However, if you aren't able to support him what is your plan once he arrives here?

I've often wondered the same thing. But apparently, some consuls dont even look at the AOS. Who knows.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Ok... let me edit my previous post. I am not able to sponsor him according to the 125% poverty guidelines according to the uscis.gov website. I currentlt am not making that particular amount... I did not say he was going to starve when he got here and live in poverty.

I've not seen any evidence one way or the other to support/disprove the notion that needing a co-sponsor (or not) has a great effect on visa approvals.

In MENA or elsewhere (although there are some Embassies/Consulates that don't even accept co-sponsorship; Morocco is not one of those).

It's something to consider - as your spouse may not be working for 6-12 months after arrival.
