Well I thought I would share with my Canadian friends my experiences on Friday. Since I cannot register my car in Wisconsin till after AOS I thought I would check in with my insurance company to let them know about the move and leaving my insurance on it with them till after AOS. They emailed me back, "oh its not a problem, but there will be a 50% surcharge for driving in the US, so before you leave please send us $400 dollars in addional to your regular yearly $800 premium and the date of departure." I near fell through the floor!!! Its bad enough I had to go into the Registry of Motor Vehicles and renew my plates for another two years (yes in Nova Scotia its every two years) at a cost of $193. and my license is going to expiry in September and I know AOS won't be complete by then so $70 bucks for that.....when is it ever going to end!! I had to vent...I feel better now!!
