Some crazy ####### happening on this show. Does anyone think that the mantelope thing that attacked Sookie was maybe one of Maryann's flunkies? Like Eggs? Or manservant Carl.

I'm sooooooo glad that Lafayette still isn't dead. He's the best character on the show.

I'm still not convinced about Jason's story arc there. I want him more involved with the main characters on the show instead of lazying away the hours at anti-vamp jesus camp.

Yeah, I'm thinking the creature is involved with Maryann. Carl is the red hog...the one that was also with her when Tara crashed her car. That would explain why the vampires couldn't recognize the scent because they've had run ins with lycanthropes (werewolves) before. As Eric said, in his 1,000 years on earth, he'd never seen anything like what Sookie described.

I agree about Lafayette being the best character. I don't think he'll be the same though after what he's been through. And I think he now has a personal vendetta against Jason.

As for Jason - I thought his inner struggle was convincing. Did you notice that he woke up when Sookie was screaming in pain? I believe that they both have Fairie or Elf blood in them and they are connected emotionally.

It was a great episode and I recorded it so I'll think I'll watch again later this week.

Just watched the latest episode for the second time. Yeah for 'on demand'. It will be interesting to see how all these story lines come together. Road Trip next week!! Jessica has a boyfriend and Tara has clued in a bit. I can't guess as to what is next but I love hearing what others think. There is a small clip for next week where Eric pays a visit to Lafayette's house. They are not done with him yet.

Do you think Arlene and Terry will get together?

I was surprised that Lafayette was not turned....wondering what Eric had to gain by keeping him alive.

There are probably rules against that sort of thing. Barbaric rules, but rules nonetheless.

Like maybe they are not allowed to turn a human unless he or she killed one of their own.

Hmmm...could be. I like Eric this season. He's seems a lot more dimensional than he was in the first season. He seemed a bit impressed with Lafayette's courage.

I was happy to see Jessica get together with Hoyt. Her character is becoming more interesting and complex. The actress playing her is doing a really great job...and I always liked Hoyt.

Terry's a strange one...I'm thinking that he's not fully human.

Bill has taken more of a father role to her which makes it interesting.

Thinking about the make out scene - one thing that's bothered me the teeth being used for the fangs look wrong....maybe because I'm used to seeing it be the canine teeth in other vampire depictions.
