In Greek mythology, Maenads were the female followers of Dionysus, the most significant members of the Thiasus, the retinue of Dionysus. Their name literally translates as "raving ones". Oh, one thing I meant to mention. I am way less annoyed by the character of Jessica this season than I was when she first showed up. I groaned when I found out she was going to be a regular character but so far these first few episodes, I don't wanna kill her.

I had the same reaction about Jessica but she did very well with providing entertainment this last episode. From the looks of next weeks trailer it looks like she has a good part as well. That Maryann lead is very interesting...good research. I bet Maryann did kill the phony voodoo women, couldn't figure that one out. So many things going on at once. Next Sunday can't come soon enough. I have my Hubby hooked.

What about the scene where Sookie tried to read her mind?! She heard Latin or something. Why do the Vampires think Sookie is so valuable, is it just the mind reading? They alluded to something about Sookie and powers in the first season a tad but never really went further. Do you think she has more abilities than reading minds? A good friend of mine thinks Bill is actually evil and is just playing Sookie...not too sure myself.

it did...i was actually a bit freaked out when she turned around and it was just standing there at the end of the road! and then the new waitress girl had the same scratch marks on her back too...very interesting

Oh, last night's episode was even better than the last! The series is based on a book series, and in the books, there are different mythical creatures. I think it was lycanthrope (like werewolves), but the vampires were not able to detect what it is from the scent.

I was surprised that Lafayette was not turned....wondering what Eric had to gain by keeping him alive.

Some crazy ####### happening on this show. Does anyone think that the mantelope thing that attacked Sookie was maybe one of Maryann's flunkies? Like Eggs? Or manservant Carl.

I'm sooooooo glad that Lafayette still isn't dead. He's the best character on the show.

I'm still not convinced about Jason's story arc there. I want him more involved with the main characters on the show instead of lazying away the hours at anti-vamp jesus camp.
