Btw, Platy and I got series 1 through Netflix and watched it only a couple of weeks ago. We won't see series 2 until it comes out on DVD, so I won't be partaking in anymore of this thread for fear of spoilers. However, we really did enjoy series 1.

I hope Lafayette isn't dead, but, judging by the books it is based on, he is.

You can't go by the books though as the producer, Alan Ball, has said that he is not following the books. We were pulled in by the great performances. The acting, IMO, was top notch.

I started watching season 1 last week with my aunt. She's read all the books and convinced me to watch it with her. Addicted now. Thanks for suggesting it awhile ago Steven.

Watched tonight and not disappointed! Loved it!! I'm reading the books and oddly - I like them too. A little different than the series but still good.

Based on the first night of the season I don't think many will be disappointed. I think I should read the books as well. Are they well written and worth it? I Lafayette...great character. Next week looks good.

my fiance made me watch the first episode with him over the phone and i've been addicted since then and so is he! he is in Orlando for the NBA finals and i had to text msg him updates while i watched the season premier! the characters are so alive and twisted...it's awesome television!

I read the first book and saw the first season. I liked the idea behind the book but I thought it was poorly written, and the show, well, dunno, I have mixed feelings over it, somehow everything just reads like soft porn and dirty but not in the good woohoo let's have sex way.

omg i just watched a clip with 'vampire bill' and others.. that's way worse than Kira Sedgewick accent in the closer

I understand that not everyone likes the show. It is over the top and kitschy but that is what I like about it. Notice that the title of the thread is True Blood 'Fans' not 'Haters'. If you watch the show and have a problem with writing or choice of direction...that is different.

But on that note, Yes the accents are bad. Being from Ohio I actually have a good fake southern accent so I know a bad one well. Sunday nights are great nights for bad TV.

Being from the south I actually have a GREAT southern accent! Several of the actors in the show are from Australia....go figure! Still, all in all, they are HOT HOT HOT!
