Why does everyone rush to defend these TV news shows?

So, because he bucks the Fox boat and is sort of fair and balanced, Fox are going to fire him?

I doubt it. I don't usually watch the guy (wrong time of the week for TV), but I caught his bit on the bird attacks and he was actually kind of funny, in a deadpan, Monty Python way.

We'll see.. the right isn't exactly well known for tolerance of other opinions.

If you actually watched Fox, you'd know it displays plenty of differing views. You can always tell when someone is offering an opinion without observation, but you've admitted before to doing that.

Sorry. I don't believe you. You can't watch it all day and think Fox is intolerant of a diversity of thought. You're a seminar poster when it comes to criticising conservative media.

Whatever... I work in a military operations center and we broadcast the news (Fox & CNN primarily) so when I form an opinion its based on what I observe. You can disagree with my conclusions but to assume they are baseless is offensive.

Well, if you are actually paying atention to the shows as you work, and you are unable to tell that Fox is not as one-dimensional as you say it s, then it is you who has lost perspective, not Fox.

BTW, you assume the conservatives here have baseless opinions, so you may want to rethink your approach to our posts, as well.

We can agree to disagree on the bias or lack thereof of Fox News, as we have obviously reached an impasse on that subject. As for the conservatives on VJ my take on that is their views tend to be far right & rather intolerant (they constantly label opposing views as being liberal, which is nothing more than an attempt to discredit other opinions) so if you believe I take exception to that you're correct.

I do however pay attention to Fox... Megyn Kelly has killer legs!

Conservatives are not far right and intolerant unless you are far left and intolerant. It's all about which end you're coming from as to how "far" the other way everyone looks. And, Lord knows no lib here calls conservatives "far right" (you just did), "homophobes", "racists", "Bible thumpers", etc. in an attempt to discredit their views. You don't seem to take exception to that. Perhaps it doesn't even occur to you, with you being so observant and all . . .

Well conservative comes in many flavors... it may shock you but my two best friends are Republicans. However the conservatives on VJ tend to express some pretty extreme views & they make little effort to hide their hatred of "liberals". Since this is the internet I'm guessing that they tone their views down in real life, but all the labeling, stereotyping & exaggerating gets old. Also I have never been called a liberal anywhere else except on VJ & I believe you said the same about yourself about being called far right (in a different thread), so perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle of all the rhetoric.

No shock. My two best friends are Dimocrats and some of my family members voted for Obama. All are still alive and kicking and we're still talking, despite my disappointment in them.
