Sorry about the multiple threads, but I'm trying to keep them simple in case others look to them for support in the future.

I received Packet 3 on Friday and have spent this weekend getting my paperwork together. Am I right in thinking that I only need to complete the DS-230 & DS-2001 and send those two forms and nothing else to the Immigrant Visa Branch?

All of the instructions seem to suggest I'm right, but it seems strange that they don't want the I-864 until the interview so I just want to make sure I haven't got the wrong end of the stick :)

Brazilian Consualte wanted 4 things to schedule the final interview:

• Form DS2001;

• Form DS230 Parts I and II (Part II unsigned as per instructions);

• Copy of passport information page;

• Photo.

They will review your I-864 at the final interview. As a result, you will probably have to wait a bit longer than everyone else to be called for the interview.

That's exactly how I read it too.

Even on the Embassy website it says to only send those two forms in, it just seems odd that they'd wait to see the I-864 so I wanted to check and see what others thought/had done.

You will not need to present the I-864 until the interview, don't worry! It used to be that there was an additional checklist to send with the DS-230 (Part 1) and DS-2001 but I'm not sure this is the case anymore. It would have been in the Packet 3, so if none is enclosed it's just those two forms.

I have my packet 3 ready, just waiting for NOA2 and packet 3 to be officially sent to me now! All I have left to do is write the case number in. If I were you I'd gather all the evidence you can and prepare all you can now, it'll save time and give you chance to double check what you have. It's what I'm doing...preparation though my husband calls it obsessing. lol

Just to let you know, higherground, there are additional forms necessary for the K1 visa in the Packet 3 beyond those for the CR1/IR1. Best off looking here: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

Yep, that's exactly what I had to send in. Just those 2 forms, which was hardly anything. All of the documents, passports, photos, I864 etc. is supposed to be given to them at the interview.

I too was also weary of this, because I thought I had to prepare this big package and send it to them. I'm not filing in the UK, but Israel, and that's how they do it here as well.

Just to be sure... the DS-2001 is two pages, right? And there's a huge typo on the front page where it's supposed to say Please and it says ASE... which took me some time to figure out as I wondered what Ase(ing) was.

I've digressed.

The DS-2001 is two pages, right? Or just the back page with the signature, not the check list bit in the front?

Sorry to intrude on this Packet three post.......But I'm trying to find out if the Montreal packet 3 is any different than the vancouver packet 3. I've downloaded the vancouver packet 3 pdf, but it says K1-K3, not IR-1/CR-1. I've been looking on the montreal consulate website and I can't find the packet 3 download........anybody know where to get that?
