I-765 & I-485 ''What is my current status''

On both the forms I-765 & I-485 it asks ''Current Immigration Status (Vistor, Student, etc.)''

I came here as a vistor in May 2008 on a VWP. I got married in August 2008 and stayed here ever since. I am now applying for adjustment of status. What would my immigration status be?

Your current status is "out of status" - VWP is good for only 90 days.

But you could write "Visitor - VWP" -- they will see by your paperwork your out of status.

I want just to add one more question to this topic instead of creating another one:

if I came with one visa type (J1) and changed it into another status a year later (F1), and now I am in F1 status currently. I have never been out of status. What should I write about current status? F1, right? status at the time of admission-J1, right? But do I have to mention that it was changed during my stay in the USA?

It is so confusing, I dont want to cause more problems with my papers.
