It has been 2 weeks since our AP was done and a cable sent to casa. yet no phone call.

I called both senators and asked if they would make an inquiry for us. They seemed ho hum. I know this has been a long process but darn, I am the one waitng!!!

I also wrote to the visa liason in Washington asking for his assistance. I told him I felt allof our delays were because we fought the decision of the CO and won. It took 5 months to get the interview!!!

Yet we still have no visa and are apart. ****sigh****

We are just.................

 Yeash what a wait you 2 have been through!! All I can think is that I need to keep my fingers crossed since this is the end of the journey...

Shon, I never get a 15 min wait time! Especially on Wednesdays.. they get back into the office at 12p from whatever they are doing. So I start calling at 857a my time, then I am first in line :) Usually I only have a hold time of 5-10mins so I put my cell phone on speaker and go about my work lol

I hope to see some good news soon from you guys!!

:crying::help::crying: This process is literally going to make me lose my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called DOS just to see if the FP results were in - I already know the case is pending at the embassy now... DOS said no nothing yet... so I called the FBI # and asked if prints submitted in mid-April would be done by now, she said yes, asked for my fiance's name and then told me there's NOTHING in the system for him - it hasn't even been rec'd yet!??!?!? WTH is going on???? She told me that it goes to NVC, then to them so I should call NVC - I tried that but it keeps kicking me out of the system telling me the operators are busy... OMG this just can't be true, that would mean another 10-12 wks AFTER it gets to the FBI, whenever that happens!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm seriously going to lose my mind!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh I wish these stinking checks were over. I called DOS again this morning...as usual. It was kind of funny because the woman I talked to said "oh yeah, I talked to you yesterday, I remember this picture" So, that was kind of interesting. I guess when they pull the file it pulls my hubbys pic? She said that they can't follow up on this until 3 months have passed.. and then she said that they had requested the checks in May.. So a little more information to add to my growing list.

:crying: I am so damn sick of this. I have our fingers crossed for all of us!!

Is there any way we can find out about the time limit of these background/name checks/administrative processing???

Some had said one reason it takes so long is because when one check is complete another check expires. How can that be? Isn't a check a check? Do they think the person will commit something in such a short time span or something?

I feel all your pain in....

I have a question.... Has anyone had the experience of someone at DOS asking for your name and phone number and telling you they would call you back? If so, did they actually call?

I called DOS again yesterday and at first I was told that it looked like we were just waiting for a visa # to come available. Of course I said huh..don't understand? Put on hold. Then I was asked for DF passport #. Gladly gave it and was placed on hold again. Then I was asked for my name and phone # and was told they were going to look further into what was taking so long and ask a supervisor to look as well to see if they could speed things up. I was told that it seemed there was some confusion with his name and they don't understand why it isn't cleared.

Just from my past experiences with DOS, I'm NOT holding my breath for anything to happen. I'm more confused than anything and I'm not sure I believe someone will actually look or call me back. They told me to give about a week or 2 for a call back.

Does this sound legit to anyone else or more like another stall tactic for me to stop bugging them??? :help:

Carrie that sounds hopeful although I know at this point you know how they are there...

From what you have said it did sound like there was some confusion with Simo's name so I hope for you guys that this is good news and they get this figured out. I think it's good they were going to talk to a supervisor... it sounds like they finally figured out that they messed up something.

My fingers are always crossed for you guys.

Take care Carrie and Simo,

Sarah
