his making joke lang naman... so naging okay na kami... (L)

yun lang po... salamat (F)

I get pissed off too everytime husband calls pinoy foods flip foods. He drives me crazy everytime I cook something Pinoy especially fish. He likes Adobo and Lumpia only.

Lies! Lies! Some food I won't try because I don't recognize the ingredients. Others, I don't eat because they don't go well with a low carb diet, like rice and pansit. The fish she likes are just the stinking ones. We went to the Filipina Fiesta yesterday and I ate chicken taquitos. That's Pinoy food, diba? :D

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.

I want to list here the food that I like but he doesnt want to taste (or taste ever again)...

1. Isaw (chicken intestine)

2. Dinuguan (or what he called chocolate meat)

3. Fish belly

4. Tuwalya (ox tripe).

5. Balot......

Most of this ###### is not fit for human consumption with zero nutritional value. For starters, animal stomach, intestine and blood harbor E Coli.

I eat to fuel my body and choose wisley what I put into it for that purpose. All of what you list, typically end up as pet food ingredients here in the US. That is the disparity between 1st world and 3rd world.

Hi swmbob...

I see that you are on a K-1 visa journey with a Filipina. After reading your comments, I am wondering whether or not you talk to your fiancée about Filipino food and about Filipino culture. It doesn't seem like it to me. I am also wondering where you get your information about nutrition.

All of the food that you commented on has nutritional value. If you don't agree, can you provide me a link that shows otherwise? Do you even know what the term "nutritional value" means?

If that food is not fit for human consumption, do you believe that your fiancée is less than human?

Do you even have a clue why E Coli is a first-world disease? Maybe you should look into that before you make any more ignorant comments about Filipino food.

My cousin worked in the pet food industry for many years here in the USA. He's never heard of those foods being added to the pet food sold here. Where do you get your information?

Did you know that buying pet food is uncommon in the Philippines? Poor Filipinos can not afford it. Most of the middle class (and above) wouldn't think of it. They feed their cats and dogs leftovers from the table. Your pets are likely the ones who are eating food that is unfit for human consumption, including those added extras like melamine from China.

It seems that your Filipina fiancée has her work cut out for her. Thank goodness Filipinas are patient and understanding.

My fiance doesn't like balot, but when we were in Boracay, he bought two for me and watched me eat. He even took pics of me eating them, hehe. One Filipino dish he likes is pork adobo. He doesnt eat rice often though.

Hi scotty's girl...

I had to laugh about your Boracay balut story. It reminded me of my narrow escape from eating balut.

When my wife (then-fiancée) and I were in Boracay, one day, while she was sleeping on a beach bed, I saw the balut vendor walking by on the beach, carrying his wooden box. It was the only time I saw a balut vendor in Boracay. Thank God that he was not yelling "BAAAALUUUUUUUUT". Thank God that he was far down the beach and out of sight by the time my wife woke up. She was craving balut...and she wanted me to try it. I eat just about anything...and I love Filipino food...but I can't seem to wrap my mind around the thought of eating balut.

I would love to see your balut-eating photos!

Why do you think I'm looking down on anyone? I stated my opinion, same as you have, basing my opinion on fact, which one offends you?

The OP didn't list your delicacies... but if you enjoy a little tongue every once in awhile or testicles... More power to you!

I see you looking down upon others because of what you said exactly

All of what you list, typically end up as pet food ingredients here in the US. That is the disparity between 1st world and 3rd world

May be you need to do your search more often, ever seen French cuisine? They eat some of the things which you give to your pet :)

I love Anthony Bourdain and that man always says -- How the greatest cooks are from the poorest parts of the world, because they know not to waste anything, they use the last possible ingredient available and make something incredible with it.

I don't want to have a war with you. But I really hope you would have an open mind about the world and world cuisine. Yes people coming from poor areas do eat things which rich people dont. If you see European history, potato was poor people diet, and look what potato is now all over the world?

Point is just -- One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Peace out!

Clam is Tuway right.... Pero diba meron pang ibang meaning yung TUWAY sa bisaya or sa amin sa Leyte lang talaga yun  ? Well, my husband favorite is Lumpia and Suman but he dont like Shrimp Paste naman, He tried once before and he almost puked in his plate lol. When we were philippines dati i asked sometimes if he want to try this and that kind exotic food but i didnt really convince him coz i know his not gonna like it anyway and i'm a little worried that maybe he'll just get sick :P . Specially yung Dinuguan and Intistine  there not used to that kind of food kasi diba. Worst eh baka ma- dhiaria pa.

filipino foods my hubbs don't like are.. balut, bagoong, chicken feet, adobo pusit & maja mais.

but he loves most are chicken/pork/beef adobo, lumpia (ubod, veggies & shanghai), puchero, menudo, kaldereta, grilled tilapia & bangus, rellieno bangus, nilagang baka, sinigang and bibingka (which he calls bing bing boing cake). kahit paulit ulit nya kainin lahat yan, he would not complain.

:D

anyone here like tofu? hubby was a vegetarian before I got here but changed since I can't eat without meat, he encouraged me to lessen the meat and use tofu instead as a sub for meat but I just can't do it. Though he has no complain with any filipino food but encourage me to lessen the meat. Even our pizza and burger are veggies.
