I want to list here the food that I like but he doesnt want to taste (or taste ever again)...

1. Isaw (chicken intestine ...one street of the popular street food here in the PI)...he tried kikiam and fishball though

2. Dinuguan (or what he called chocolate meat) he tried one sip but he said it tasted like iron

3. Fish belly (the best part of fish...especially for bangus (milkfish))... he just didnt like the soft texture and the black color of it

4. Tuwalya (ox tripe)...in kare-kare he just puked when he tried one bite...didnt the chewy texture

5. Balot...(a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell-from wikipedia) ...he tried it the second night he was here...oh and I saw him all green and he was about to puke...

How about your fiance/fiancee?

Other things I noticed... they don`t eat full meals for lunch...and no (heavy) snacks (e.g. spaghetti, pancit, burger, etc) between meals. Hotdog is not a breakfast. No hotdog on spaghetti (but he likes sweet spaghetti, he even tried Jollibee spaghetti). They don`t use spoon to eat rice but they use fork instead.

One thing I can tell you is you have to learn how to eat their food as well...Marriage is a compromise.. Learn how to cook their food as well,

My fiance eats dried fish atleast twice a day, 7 days a week but I can't stand the taste. Even if I cook a sirloin steak, she would rather have dried fish and rice hehe...

Balut...grabe lami (masarap)....I like it with alot of vinegear. First time I ever ate it was at a 7/11 in Tagaytay several years ago...I have been eating it ever since

Something as a Kano I have noticed is Pilipino's when using silverware, hold the fork and spoon at the same time in different hands and are very good using silverware with both hands. If you notice most Kano's only eat with one hand, and will put the fork down to use the spoon and vice versa. In America we eat alot more bread and use that as our shovel to push things onto the fork. :star:

my husband says filipinos are very efficient with the spoon and the fork since he looks very awkward when he uses both at the same time. and yes , he uses bread to shovel food

My fiance doesn't like balot, but when we were in Boracay, he bought two for me and watched me eat. He even took pics of me eating them, hehe. One Filipino dish he likes is pork adobo. He doesnt eat rice often though.

Being a TRANSPLANTED Kano myself, now day will not eat any of the food above either....sorry

When was a boy have eaten Tuwalya (ox tripe)...TRIPPA in my native country....my poor mother must have washed it a thousand times, just the cleaning smell alone used to make me puke....

But like they say....Different countries...Different tastes....to each their own.

But eating ISAW from a street vendor....is really playing Russian roulette with your stomach....ever wonder how many times their hands have been washed? LOL

My husband, although of Filipino heritage, does not care for balut. He says he tried it once, when he was a teenager, but he threw up. He does not eat rice for lunch either, a tuna sandwich or a carne asada burrito or a Big Mac meal or a slice of ham and pineapple pizza will suffice. His dinner favorites are kinilaw na tuna, humba, kare-kare, pinapaitan and pinakbet.

My husband likes some of our foods. He doesn't eat foods with gata (I like it because I am from Quezon Province). He also don't eat fish with bones and head so I am the one eating it. He likes adobo, pork chop with toyomansi and a lot more of filipino foods. So I eat what I want and I cook what he and my son want. No problem at all. Not a big deal if I cook three or four different meal. I like cooking anyway.

I agree. I really need to learn how to eat their food as well. I look to cook so learning to prepare their food will be a fun experience for me. :) I already asked his mom for some of her recipes and I noticed that most of their food is easy to prepare. They (for their family at least) usually eat grilled, roasted or baked food (low fat), unlike filipino dishes that we usually saute with garlic, onion and tomato.
