Hi everyone my brother in law had his interview on may 26 2009, and today is june 13 2009. His interview was for a cr1 visa and he had a very successful interview with a very nice co, he was in and out in 45 minutes. The co told him he'll get the visa in 1-2 weeks. It has now been 2 weeks and 4 days, and he hasnt received it yet. Is this normal?? I mean he had all his documents in order, everything was perfect, but he hasnt received his visa yet, what do yall think. Do you think its still early to be worrying? He had his interview at the consulate in jerusalem. My uncle actually mentioned yesterday that they are giving out the visas on the 15th of the month. My brother in law also went to the aramex place where they deliver the visas and they told him that its normal for the visa to take this amount of time. My sister also wrote the consul an email about 3 days ago, how long does it take for them to respond??

Have your brother in law call/email the embassy - they could give him a heads up on the status.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

you can also call the DOS. i think they're able to tell you whether or not the visa has actually been printed yet. then you'll know if it's a delay at the embassy or with the delivery service etc. call 202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0.
