Hi all,

I've noticed that in over a month, there haven't been I-130 or I-129f (for the K3) approvals. I was wondering if as a collective we could try to help each other figure out what's happening at Vermont Service Center by doing the following: When anyone calls to find out about their case status, share information on anything you find out about current processing dates, when employment based processing ends and our petitions will resume priority processing and anything to help us all have a little more insight into what's happening right now.

Two things could happen from this exercise:

1. We might be able to develop an accurate picture of what's happening (unlikely), but who knows it may just give us all some peace of mind about what's happening.

2. We might be able to collect evidence of the incosistent and incorrect information that we the users of the government arm have to endure to reunite with our families. We can collectively bring to the attention of a congressman or senator passionate and/or sympathetic about immigration reform and bring attention to the problems we encounter because the system is broken.

Join me in advocating for us and future VJ'ers!

Our K-3 and I-130 is stuck at the VSC and has been for 285 days (K3) and 327 (I-130). I had two InfoPass appointments and each time I was told, sorry, I have no update (and they don't share databases so they couldn't look at my case -- just send emails up to the VSC). I eventually sent off a few emails to two NC Senators and one Congressman. Congressman David Price's office is working with me in getting some resolution. They phone VSC a few weeks ago and were told they (VSC) were sending me an RFE. I got the RFE a day later and found one of the documents they were requesting I already sent, twice and asked for my signature in blue ink -- not black (as the paper work says use blue or black ink).

And yes, the system is broken, which is something I addressed in my emails to the politicians.

It's very frustrating. I'm sure there are plenty of others who've waited longer than I have. I'll pull from their strength to get through this process.

I'm so sorry. Surely you qualify under the expedite criteria now since they are outside processing time. Have you sent in a request for expedite in addition to the congressional inquiries??? I completely understand how frustrating it is. I only recently got naturalized and I've been seperated from my husband since June 2007. I've seen him once for four weeks and our son will turn two in December of this year. He missed most of the pregnancy, the birth and now almost two years of his son's life while we continue to try to get him here through the legal way and its so frustrating that nothing is being done to urgently overhaul this system.

Hi I have just joined and it feels better to know that there are more people out there in the same boat with the Vermont Service Center. I am convinced that these people are locked in a basement and chained to desks without contact from the outside world and there is no accountability whatsoever. We are outside the normal processing times and I too was requested through my I-129F to "resend" two passport photos of myself (as the U.S. citizen) on 5/21/2009 and my case is still listed as being on hold until they receive them even though the USPS confirms they were received on 5/28/2009. Our congresswoman has someone on the inside who has no idea why our case is extended. This is an ongoing saga! The USCIS says that they sent update emails on May 2 and May 13 which were just standard form letters saying the case was under review and they had 60 days. Well that will be July 1st, so we will see!

How do I put my timeline below my responses automatically? I just copied it:
