I hope everyone notices the age of this thread when using it for making decisions. :)

I'm about to bring Bel over. Not yet sure on the airline, but we first have to fly PAL from CDO to Manila. If we don't choose PAL for the flight to US, it could be very expensive in excess bag charges to bring two boxes per person on that leg of the trip - or maybe they won't even allow it(??).

Anybody have experience with this? I'm thinking it could be a reason to choose PAL for the whole trip, so the international flight baggage rules apply to the CDO-MNL hop. But, that is currently a $300+ difference per person.

Well now this is strange.... PAL PDX to MNL is quoted at 1370. PAL from PDX to CGY (an extra flight) is 1290. I should start a separate thread about the airfare :P
