How much does the exam and mandatory vaccinations cost on average? We are getting some wide range of quotes from the USCIS civil surgeons.

Oh, also, which ones are the "mandatory" vaccinations?

Thank you all!

Vaccinations can range from FREE to $100 or more depending on where you go to get vaccinated.

Also you can get tested for imunities to some of these things (Titer tests).

Required vaccinations are age specific.

For most:

MMR, Varicell, Tetinus.

I concur.

Medical and vaccination is age approriate. The Civil surgeon will know which one you need. Here in New York, the fee quoted to me for a full medical(Since I didn't have the records with me) ranged between $160 to $250.

On the British Consulate website it has the 180 pound cost for the medical when you look at all the forms you send in when you get the noa2. Take a look at that....http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

Ok here i will give u a good breeze that others have failed to provide. Especially senior members here shd have known of this. We did this and its good and cheap. The civil surgeon shd give you 2 choices.

i) Take the vaccines from them which may cost you $100 and above

ii) They can give u a list of state health departments in your county and around. The civil surgeon wd give you a note instructing the state board which all vaccines you need. Just go down there and take them. Wd cost you below $20 for all. They wd inturn give you a paper that wd indicate what all vaccines has been given to you and when. You take this note back to the civil surgeon and he wd indicate that in your sealed envelope.

When attaching this envelope in you AOS package do attach a copy of the paper from the state department indicating that you took the vaccines from them.

Thats all ..cheap and easy. Dnt forget to ask the civil surgeon to give you a copy of what he gave you in a sealed envelope.

Hope this helps you. Thanks

Chiristera22 shared with us great information we really need..

My appointment at Civil surgeon is on 7/8/09.

Prior to the appointment,

I have completed my immunization and other tests…

Here is my story:

First, I called civil surgeon to find out what kind of shots/tests I need.

And, I was told I need to have the following shots/tests at local health department.

TB test ($10)

HIV (FREE)

Syphilis ($13)

Tetna shot ($10)

MMR ($10)

Polio (I have medical record for this, so I did not take it)

That is all.

I also asked how much does it cost to complete I-693 at the civil surgeon.

They said…$79. Compared to other posts I have read so far, I think it is very reasonable.

As christera22 mentioned…

Just call civil surgeon first to find out what kind of shots you need and

go to local health department…I think this is the easiest and cheapest way….

Thank you, christera22!

I found a civil surgeon in my area that says they will do the whole kit and kaboodle for 305 +25 dollars for the forms. I thought that was pretty resonable. I was rather annoyed at some places because they wouldn't tell me what the price of the "additional vaccines" are... they kept saying "it depends on what they need" ... I'm like 31 year old male needs ALL of them... how much? And they still wouldn't answer me. I don't understand how they can expect people to pay all upfront (specially if you're strapped for cash) without telling you what they charge...

Some places said I could use insurance for the blood work...some said no... I think the standards at these different clinics are far too varied. How does one know they are getting the proper medical exam if every place you call says something different.

I'm affraid now that we'll get to the interview or something and open the sealed envelop and be like....umm...this isn't complete. :)

Here is ours:

Each one of my wifes vaccines were $10 at the Department of Health for our county here in Mississippi. The chickpox vaccine was $80 and you need two of them, so total of $160. One of the others required a follow up as well. The HIV was free, and the TB and Syphilis was $10 dollars. The doctor (who was 120 miles away) stated we needed all of that done before the visit, was $125.

Total for I-693: $325
