My case is with NVC since 4/22/2009

USCIS website does not show approved

Never received NOA2 hardcopies from USCIS

I understand that USCIS approved the 1-130s, but I don't have the Hardcopy NOA2

I decide to call USCIS today, they tell me that it must have been lost in the mail and I have to fill out a i-824 form which costs $340 to get a duplicate copy. $340 TO DO WHAT????? REPROCESS THE ENTIRE FU**ING APPLICATION!!!! I HAVE 4 PETITIONS THAT AN ADDITIONAL $$1360 FOR 4 PIECES OF PAPER.

Asked to speak to Supervisor

Officer Vazquez, Notional Customer service Center

Advised the same

Asked to speak with someone higher "There is nobody higher in the Building"

They advised they will have someone call me on moday, we'll see!

Sorry for the vent. This has been the most ridiculous journey I have taken! It almost makes me feel like I don't want wife and kids to come here! I should go back to Canada and live my life like I was.

Has anyone else had to request an additional copy of the NOA2, who did you contact and did it cost?

why do you need the hard copy of the NOA2 when you have already started the NVC process and have the case numbers? I am not going through the same process, so I don't know if you need it later on in the process or what???

You dont need the NOA 2, forget about it! You dont need it later down the road. Just get thru NVC now and then embassy.

sorry, I said earlier not sure... I did find in another forum that you'd need it only if you were applying for a K-3. For IR-1/2 it's not needed. So, I guess, just forget about it... Good luck

Did they actually SAY that your petitions have been approved? From what little I know, it usually takes longer than the amount of time you've been in the system...

Is the NOA2 you didn't get or the NOA1?

Sorry for your frustration! That sounds infuriating! Really though, you don't need the NOA2s for anything. You'll be just fine without them.

We went through IR-1 and didn't need NOA-2 copy for anything after our petition got approved. So you will be fine, you don't need to spend all that money for something you don't even need.

try calling again to get a different operator/person.

we did not receive our NOA1 and we asked for a reprint and they gave it for free.

in fact, they sent it twice coz we called them twice about it.

anyway, as most people here said, you don't need it so no need to fret for now.

just try to keep calling and get a different ans. they're not very reliable so if you get lucky

somebody will give you a reprint for free.

You are definately overworking yourself unneccesarily.

you don't require the NOA2, because all that will say is, you have been approved, which is quite obvious as you are already working with NVC now.

You could try calling again and simply say that you don't have the NOA2 and would like a reprint.

If they refuse to give you one, which they might, as its already moved on to the next step, no worries!

once the whole thing is done, you could try asking the CO at your interview what to do, or after you move to the US, just try then.

Or else, just try to resolve your NVC process as soon as you can to get your family over!

That IS a rip-off and vent away. That's what we are hear for. Sounds like from others you don't need the NOA2, so good luck in the rest of your journey.

As others have mentioned - you don't need the NOA2 - so try not to worry about that too much. The information the people at USCIS gave you is correct - if you want that copy they are going to charge you for it.
