Approval Letter Doubts

So I noticed that on my approval letter on the heading where it shows name and address my first name only has the first letter written down, i.e. it says J Doe as opposed to Jane Doe.

I know they give the number to call should any info be incorrect so now I dunno if that's considered incorrect info or it they shortened it on purpose.

Btw, I have two last names and both appear in full.

I believe that's normal, just like your NOA. As long as your GC comes fine, then you're ok, but I guess you're in line for the eight weeks delay. You can try calling the mis-information line to re-confirm, but according to my experience, the mis-information line will tell you that they don't know either and tell you go to make an infopass because people at the local office know more, then when you're actually go to the infopass, people there will find another reason to tell you to go away. So my suggestion is wait till you get the GC in hand, if that comes wrong, then you'll have to file I-90 and you won't have to pay because it's their fault, not yours, but still your punishment is that you have to wait another half year to get a replacement correct GC. Double check your name spelling on the biometrics notice (it should be in your full name), if that's correct, that means they've input your name correctly and you don't have to worry at this moment. My suggestion at that is if you can wait, just file for naturalization because at the oath ceremony they will take away your GC for destroy anyways.

Just wondering 'cus there's space for a full name. Good to know it's normal, don't wanna have to call the misinformation line.

Same with mine too, I did not worry about it because when the biometrics letter came, it had full name. When I did my biometrics, they confirmed full name. No need to call misinformation line!!! You are good to go!!!

But on that note, I think that is kinda weird, because there is room for full name. So if someone with my last name and first initial gets a hold of this with expired green card, it works for them too...LOL

Yupp, same here.

There would have been plenty of room for the full first name, but also have only the first letter. Maybe that's just the format they use for these specific letters.

Now just have to wait for the actual card...
