Woohoo, I just heard today from Montreal that my interview has been scheduled. It is on July 29th. So excited, I jumped out of my chair when I found out.

I was wondering though, my fiance is coming next week for a visit. Is there anything I should ask him to bring that I should take to the interview with me, such as a new letter of intent? Phone records (we use skype and I have a pay as you go phone, so he is the only one that has phone records). We also don't have any snail mail as we are the types that would rather see eachother on Skype or talk on the phone.

I just want to be prepared and have extra just incase you know.

All suggestions welcome,

Yes, he does need to write a new letter of intent. Here is a sample of the letter he should bring. I used that basic format for my letter of intent (I'm the USC) and it was accepted. Do you have all of your (rather, his) financial information? Such as taxes, etc. There's a thread somewhere (I'll have to find it) that has the information we've all hashed & rehashed prior to our Montreal interviews. It might even be in the K1s waiting for Montreal Interviews... but I'll double check. :)

Thanks so much for all the advice. I can barely stop smiling, though I know that will change to pure nerves before the interview.

I just told my fiance too, and he will come up from the states to be with me for it, which will be great to have that support.

Congrats to all the others who are finally getting their interview dates.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
