I'm sure there is a thread around here somewhere... in fact I even think I asked a question on it... but, alas. I can't find it.

Anyway, we were talking today about his SSn and the AoS. We can apply for the SSN even if we have not turned in AoS paperwork, yes?

Also, if we need to wait until we return frmom the honeymoon to apply for AoS, we're still okay timing wise - we have another 90 or 120 days - I think.

I was reading the K1 AoS guide and I didn't see anything there. I'm assuming, if there is no note regarding applying for SSN before AoS and the timing within 90 days to turn in paperwork is okay... then that means we should be okay if we turn in AoS paperwork upon our return from honeymoon. Our marriage certificate will be back by the time we return. We're just not sure it will be ready before we leave.

Have you all had pretty good results with applying for SSN before AoS? (I'm thinking that answer is yes.....)

Thank you all!!!

BTW... only 10 more days until he moves here and 35 days until the wedding!!! Yea!!!

I'd have him apply for his SSN about 10 days to 2 weeks after arrival. Yes, before the wedding. Then don't worry about anything but your lovely nuptials and then your honeymoon!! Enjoy yourself, and when you get back you can apply for your AOS, and by then your marriage certificate will have arrived. You can't apply for AOS until you have it anyway.

While it's really nice to apply for your AOS within 90 days, there is no hard and fast rule about that either, so please don't worry about that 90 day time limit. The 90 day time limit that's so important is that the marriage has to take place within 90 days of him activating the visa.

Thanks, Carla and Krikit! I was thinking that the two were separate, but, like I said... I couldn't find that wording anywhere. Which, I guess, if I follow my own advice (if nothing is mentioned then don't connect the two), means that they are not related (like you both said).

Thanks so much! :)

I'm going over to Canada later today to meet up with my fiance', his mom, great-aunt, and my parents. They're all in London right now. LOL I'm the only one not there. Anyway, we're all meeting up for my fiance's birthday (today) dinner. This is our LAST visit... YEA!!! The next time I go over, he will be coming back with me FOR GOOD! Then, no more visits!!!!!!

Thanks! I'm excited to go. Hmmm... makes me realize, I don't have a card OR gift for him. Uh oh.....

Well... birthdays are always a good thing! If you didn't have a birthday to celebrate, that might mean that you were dead. And, we don't want a dead Krikit. We LOVE a Krikit that is ALIVE and kicking!!! :P Even if she is kicking b/c it is her birthday (almost).....
