that's what I'd like to know. I thought that thread was a great idea. Rather than polluting threads all over VJ (like this one) with Marc-banter, we could have a dedicated thread to be the exclusive romping ground for those who like that sort of fun. Instead, that thread was locked meaning we have no choice but to interrupt the Letterman conversation with a discussion of why that thread got locked. Poor choice by the mods, imho.

that's what I'd like to know. I thought that thread was a great idea. I actually thought it was funny. It was Todd Palin who remarked about rape - Letterman never said anything about that. And for a woman who paraded her family allover the country as if she was proud of her teenage daughter being knocked up, well then, you get what you deserve. She made her daughter a public spectacle - she's 18 - deal with it.

Bristol was an unwed-mom-to-be. Was she supposed to hide at home? Hide the "shame" or "stigma"?

Its not Bristol's fault but she does seem to keep giving interviews to the People magazines of the world with bizarre quotes like "if people knew what could happen, noone would be having sex".

not hiding ... and having family support for her mistake/decision is better than hiding in shame. there is a line between being supportive of mom and other unwed moms-to-be vs going OTT. Did she cross it? Don't know cause at some point during the fall ruckus I turned on my media slime filter and ignored the schoolyard mentality media for both sides.

pedroh ... parents can only guide their children to understand right/wrong ... not live their children's lives for them. Did you do everything your parents taught you to do/not do? If not ... does this make your parents a "joke"?
