We are in the process of filing AOS and thought we would ask for advance parole just in case. In the instructions it says:

1. If you are in the United States you must attach:

a. A copy of any document issued to you by USCIS showing your present status in the United States and

b. An explanation or other evidence showing the circumstances that warrant issuance of an Advance Parole Document or

c. If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application or

d. If you are traveling to Canada to apply for an immigrant visa, a copy of the US consular appointment letter.

What would we show for a.? A copy of NOA 2 ?

How have those of you who have filed for advance parole answered b.?

As for c. we can not give a copy of a receipt we do not have yet :)

And d. does not apply

For a. Copy of I-94 card.

For b. Simply state to be able to travel home to take care of family matters. (AP is an interim benifit of AOS and needs no explanation)

For c. If you include the I-131 in the same envelope with I-485, no copy of receipt needed. If filing I-131 After filing I-485, then a copy of I-485 NOA1 letter will be needed.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
