The main media has been trying to push Socialism for a long time and now they have a helped to get elected a big time Socialist then who can blame them for gushing? Of course Europe loves the guy and are very happy to get the U.S. becoming a Socialist country finally like they are. I disagree.

No matter the price or the results, those who believe in the message he preached will back him.. what other choice do they have?

Barack would have to abandon enough core principles to loose those who get the "leg tingle" when he talks.

Trust me, a balanced budget is not a core principle.

Bush lost the base not because he let the wrong strategy malinger in Iraq for too long, but because he breeched core principles such as his free medication for all seniors program and his unwillingness to defend the border...... then embracing the idea of amnesty for illegals.

Obama is hard-core left, at worst he will fail to act on certain issues if it is politically weak.... but trust me, Obama will never go-right on any front.

He will loose the "middle" but not the left.

That's a fallacy though isn't it.... Obama isn't "hardcore left" - everything he's done so far suggests his administration is following a centrist agenda.

There's actually been quite a bit of criticism of Obama from various elements of the left - ranging from his cabinet picks to his positions on Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay, the economy, his healthcare plan etc etc etc etc.

Of course if we use the reasoning that anything that isn't uniformly conservative is "hard left" (and that is something that has been promoted in some parts of the media) you're simply going to see what you want to see.

I do hold out some hope that some of the wackos on VJ will dispense with a stereotyping of the issues, but sadly I remain in disappointment.
