I'm filing for Adjustment of Status from a Tourist visa, I have a question regarding Proof of Bona Fide Marriage in this case my lease

I've been living in the US since 2005

2005-2007 I was in the US with a Student visa attending College. Then went back home for a month in a half

October 2007 to December 2008- Came to the US with OPT optional practical training.

When my visa expired i went back home for 2 months, I planned to come back to the US to do my masters degree.

February 2009 came to the US with a tourist visa to attend my best friend's wedding and to check out some colleges

The same day i arrived (February 14th) my now husband proposed to me i didn't have a clue!!!! since we already planned to get married until we both finished with our careers.

Of course I said yes!!!! :D and we got married in may..

The lawyer told me that it's going to look shady if i send a copy of all my leases...and told me to ask management if they could write a letter, I asked management to see if they can write a letter stating that i left in December and i was removed from the lease because i was leaving the country and my work visa was expiring, and also state that I went back on the lease in may 2009. Is this a good idea??? Should i just send all my leases? or get the letter.. management is willing to do the letter

Yeap, that sounds like a good idea, now your least doesn't show a possible prior intention to overstay your OPT. Place yourself in their shoes and ask yourself the same questions. Wouldn't one of those be...

"Why does she have a lease extends to a further date than when her visa was supposed to expire? did she have the intention to stay or return to the US to stay permanently?
