Brad isn't going to be traveling by Sea/Land so the I-551 isn't sufficient.

Brad, try calling the airline and see if you can get them to make allowances for an emergency. Also, don't forget to ask for bereavement rates.

Do you happen to have a photoccopy of your bio page of your old one? They usually allow that for people who lost their passport. But I hope the consulate can help you. gl and condolences for your loss.

You can not travel with a Nexus card alone, you always need to have your Passport along with it. They tell you that when you get your Nexus card.

Dude... again, the pressing issue is for the OP to be able to enter CANADA without a passport or a birth certificate, in order to attend his grandfather's funeral. The green card alone will not help him do that. That is what everyone is trying to say.

The Los Angeles Canadian Embassy is amazing, I highly recommend them. They managed to get an emergency passport to me today and I am on my way home. Okay I love Canada again now.

payxibka, you are only looking at half of the situation. Brad needs to fly home, not just cross the border to and from the US. Passports are required. This is not a theoretical discussion but an actual need for correct information. As Brad has received the necessary information, has obtained an emergency passport and is now able to return home for his grandfather's funeral I am closing this thread.
