CDC recommends them for those who are in crowded places like the subway.

How about what the CDC actually says?

The only people for whom the CDC says a facemask may be "consdered" (this is distinct from an actual recommendation) are "high risk people" in a "crowded setting".

Who are "high risk people"?

Here's the defintiion.

Persons at increased risk of severe illness from influenza (i.e. high-risk persons) include those groups at higher risk for severe illness from seasonal influenza, including: children younger than 5 years old; persons aged 65 years or older; children and adolescents (younger than 18 years) who are receiving long-term aspirin therapy and who might be at risk for experiencing Reye syndrome after influenza virus infection; pregnant women; adults and children who have pulmonary, including asthma, cardiovascular, hepatic, hematological, neurologic, neuromuscular, or metabolic disorders, such as diabetes; adults and children who have immunosuppression (including immunosuppression caused by medications or by HIV); and, residents of nursing homes and other chronic-care facilities.

See Table 1 on this page for the source - http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/masks.htm#table1

I don't want to 'buy' anything. I think pharmo supplies are much more useful in this situation.

I'm going to sell masks at the bottom of lift shafts. I can see how helpful that would be

Guess where the Unites States government purchased $180 million dollars worth of swine flu vaccines from. Furthermore, I actually went to the college that this company is a part of.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

It's cute how foreigners get so excited every time America so much as acknowledges their existence.

Funny because Australia is the only country that has its own priority Visa category in the US.

They just know who their real buds are. Certainly not some country with a caste system like India; Let alone Mexico.

We give you guys a priority visa category, I am glad that makes you feel special; I am heartened that you live for the approval of Uncle Sam ;)

We? Your Indian dude. No we about it. I am probably more American than you and your entire state (combined).

As I said before, if I need someone to upgrade a server rack, I know who to call.

CSL is not the only vaccine maker out there - in fact, they don't even have the swine flu vaccine ready yet.

The main flu vaccine manufacturers are

Sanofi Pasteur (the vaccines division of Sanofi-Aventis SA)

Glaxo

Novartis AG and

Baxter International Inc.
