My dog is terrified of thunder and fireworks. We have to give him a Xanax every storm and 4th of July. I think a lot of dogs get scared of loud noises-here they don't allow dogs at the pond after a certain time.

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

We are doing the family BBQ thing at my aunt's house. We do it every year. Then we go see the small town parade with fire trucks and ambulances. We will go up on Grandfather Mountain and watch fireworks. You can see several different town's displays from there. It's really nice. That's about it for us.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

One of the perks of living in the mountains. It is pretty cool. You are actually above some of the fireworks.

Working... because it's a holiday it are one-person-shifts ... the foreigner (that's me apparently :D ) and the veteran (my co-worker who's been in the army for 20 years) will be on call today ...

I just hung up the Stars'n Stripes ... on the 11th it'll be accompanied by the Flemish Lion and on the 21st by the Belgian Tricolor ... Yes I like to wave flags, and will do it in accordance with accepted guidelines...

I'd never wave my country flags w/o the S'n S... a local redneck might take a shot at my banners :wacko::lol:

Entry in the USA: May 13 2005

10 yr GC approved: October 5 2007

We're having my inlaws over for BBQ where I'll be doing steaks.

I spent all day at work yesterday being quizzed over my take on the origins of the holiday. For me its a day off work... a chance to spend some quality time with family and an excuse to eat and drink more than we would on a regular day. I think I'll get a T-shirt printed for next year saying "Happy 'You're Welcome To It' day" or "Happy 'We didn't want the Tornados and Hurricanes anyway' day"

They are predicting storms later today which could mean a repeat of last years fun and games when the tornado siren went off as I was finishing off the BBQ'd treats !!

Anyways... Happy 4th to everyone, whatever it means to you and yours !!

Mark :)
