Nothing. The EAD IS an ID card. Hopefully you filed for the green card in her married name? Yes? When the green card comes, put the EAD in your scrap book. Fixed.

Call the USCIS number and talk to one of the customer service reps. You will probably have to mail them a certified copy of your marriage certificate and another form of ID with the new last name on it.

Usually that's how it works, it's not a huge deal. But call and ask anyhow.

You won't fix the EAD, you will fix the GC. During the AOS interview (If there will be one for you of course), IO will take your wife's EAD card back anyway, you have to mention to IO about the name change & IO will be able to fix it then. So your wife will be receiving GC on married name. Don't forget EAD is temporary & is not big deal but GC is. GOOD LUCK !.....

Ok, so you shot yourself in both feet. You may not have an interview to "fix it". IF you have an interview you can try at that point. If they will not allow it or there is no interview you will have to file an I-90, request for new GC and pay the fee. $340, I believe. Not everyone has interviews

As you go through this process you will be well served to read instructions. AOS and EAD can be applied for in married name.

No, that is usually not how it works.

Calling USCIS is an excerise in futility and will give no results but to raise your blood pressure a few points. You have already sent a certified copy of your marriage lisence for AOS. You will be able to change it at the interview, if you have one, or by filing an I-90 and paying the fee

Really? Because we've called USCIS and they've been very helpful with questions other than application status. (They seemed not to want to help us with application status, they just give you a time frame and that's it, they kinda got pissed off too). We had a question when filing for AOS about the vaccination document and the woman I spoke with was really helpful. Also while filing the K-1 I gave a call to them and they were more than helpful with a couple of questions I had.

I also know of 2 friends of mine who have changed the name on their greencard after being married, and they sent in their marriage certificate (which in NY can also be used as a name change document) in what seemed to be a seemingly painless process. I guess that was in conjunction with the I-90?

Asking questions and changing documents are two different things. You would need the I-90 to do it that way. No need to call anyone. I know of two cases where they green card was lost, never delivered, and the I-90 fee was waived after considerable trouble, but not the form itself. For a "pilot error" they are deifintely going to make you pay.

We also do not call it the "mis-information" line for nothing
