Hello to everyone on their Visa Journeys!!!! I have searched and searched google, yahoo, and other visa websites. The US Embassy in Kingston wrote me an email today saying that I can submit the DS230 on my husbands behalf. I have already shipped the papers to JA for his signature. I would just like to know if ANYONE knows if we MUST submit a police report for him (he has no record) and if we must include my ORIG Birth Certificate with his application.

He does have his original BC and Marriage certificate, receipt number  . cant wait for all this ####### to be over. any correspondance on this would be greatly appreciate. Thank you!!!!

police report is required

I doubt the USC's birth certificate is required... mine was not

Police Records

Available. Residents of Jamaica should apply for police certificates at the Ministry of National Security, 3 Oxford Rd., Kingston 5. They must present a passport, two passport-sized photographs, fee receipt, and evidence, such as a form letter of instructions to visa applicants, that the Embassy requires them to obtain police certificates for immigration purposes. There is both express, three-day service and a 21-day service.

After the application is processed, the applicant should take the receipt to 79 East Street in downtown Kingston, where the applicant is fingerprinted. At the end of the specified period, applicants should return to 79 East Street to collect the police certificate.

Jamaicans living abroad and former residents of Jamaica may also obtain police certificates, but will need someone in Jamaica to act on their behalf. The applicant should furnish the person applying for the record on their behalf with fingerprints, a certificate of character from a Notary Public or Lay Magistrate, two passport size photographs and a letter of consent authorizing application. These documents are to be taken to the Ministry of National Security at 3 Oxford Road, Kingston 5.

The issued certificate measures 8 x 6 inches with a heading of "Jamaican Constabulary." A photograph of the applicant is attached and an impression seal is placed on the photograph.

Yes, your husband MUST obtain a Police Cert, he will need two passport ID's inorder to obtain a Police Cert in Jamaica. You will need to fill out the I-134 for Financial verfication. Your husband will need his Orig BC, Orginal Cert Marriage Cert. Your husband will need six passport Photo's for the medical aswell.

Bunz, at the interview they give the orginals back to you. So make sure you take phtocopies to the interview. Bunz, this is another reason I am against anyone doing the K3 at the Kingston embassy. This case was sent to Kingston in March, and they are just getting around to assigning an interview date. If they had followed thru with the CR1 at NVC, they would be getting an interview date around about now, but also when he arrived in the Usa HE WOULD ALSO HAVE HIS GC.

After, they arrive in the USA, they will still have to adjust status at a cost of 1050.00 vs just paying the extra 470.00. If they just do the EAD card, that is still 360.00. They will still have to adjust staus before the 2 years are up, and that is 1050.00.
