Hey fellow VJ'rs,

Got some wonderful news today! Received NOA2 and I am so excited but I am also a little confused! As I understand it, after the USCIS approves the petition it goes to the NVC (National Visa Center) then to the Embassy/Consulate. The letter I received says: "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about Visa issuance, ..."

According to this, it sounds like it is going straight to the Consulate! Oh, it also says "Approval Notice: Valid from 06/03/2009 to 10/03/2009

Does this mean that we have until 10/03/09 to receive the Visa from the Consulate? This is a little confusing!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks so much!

Straight to the consulate via NVC

the petition approval is valid for four months... if the consulate is not able to issue a visa in that time they can extend the validity period
