Well a couple things I'd like to say...I have been on VJ a long time, and actually OT is not only for comedy(I personally wouldn't want to learn OT skills from spookyturtle, are you kidding me lol), maybe it has become more so that way, which whatever, who cares really.

I can be serious too if I feel the topic warrants it.

if you feel

Yea, it's all about him. In the meantime, he's busy ruining it for others.

it is kind of sad that a thread about someone getting shot and killed has turned into this mess

I was thinking how I never actually said that the situation was sad and horrible. By the time I got here it was way past that!!

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Wow long post.

Well a couple things I'd like to say...I have been on VJ a long time, and actually OT is not only for comedy(I personally wouldn't want to learn OT skills from spookyturtle, are you kidding me lol), maybe it has become more so that way, which whatever, who cares really. But there have been many nice and fun topics at the same time over the years. I don't see it as a playground to purposely be stupid in. Yeah it is the off topic area, to talk about whatever people want. Sometimes people want to talk about something nice too, and not have it ruined on purpose, which is something that can annoy me. As you may have seen recently. :innocent: I don't act like a child on purpose in OT, if I do it's not on purpose. I try to be nice most of the time. I am not going to take advantage of OT.

About the encounters with Constellation, I can't say anything about your perspective since it's yours and well I think most people would see your 1-3 points as well observed. However I just don't think he is that horrible, just emotionally driven while posting, which I have seen other people do too. Who have views on the other side. So what are ya going to do...well me, I just read and think Pike and Constellation are cute bickering, like brothers maybe. UK and Australia rivalry?

Yes, there are good and fun topics. You know what? The circumcision thread today, believe it or not, had real and intelligent discussion and opinions all mixed together with the jokes and the silliness. We had people offering reasonable views on why it should be respected as a cultural and religious practice and may have medical or other benefits. And we had people decrying it as barbaric and inappropriate for young babies who cannot consent. I think it's interesting to consider the different points of view on the subject. I also think it did no harm to have some jokes flying by at the very same time. It's quirky, but in a good way.

I actually am interested in serious discussions. That's why I started out taking constellation seriously. I have a lot of varied interests and opinions. I don't run a blog, maybe I should. OT has been kind of a proxy-blog for me. I get to post random articles and opinion threads here. Some start discussions, others are duds. And people like AJ and Danno can always be counted on to start good threads each day with their own posts. When a thread is in "serious" mode, I can do that. When it drifts into "nutters" mode, I roll with that too. I honestly don't know which I prefer, I like both. I probably prefer most the threads that drift back and forth.

I don't think constellation is horrible either. I think he's kind of funny. I imagine him in his own private echo chamber, getting all that positive reaffirmation thrown back his way.

I don't understand how someone can be so thick

And day after day you try to reason with him. Why?

That is the $64 question.

Steven, tell them I am serious at times. They don't believe me.

Don't listen to him. Spooky lies.

You are absolutely right.

A moment of silence, please.

Thank you.

BY - I don't think you realise that a lot of the stuff you say is offensive and highly inflammatory.

You have said flat out - that blacks and hispanics should have diminished rights because a lot of crime is committed by people from those ethnicities. This includes (but is not limited to) being stopped and searched by police without cause, and that parts of the US constitution should not apply to them.

You also show a complete lack of understanding of social problems in this country - and your only recourse for discussion are bizarre Daz Challenge anecdotes, TV shows, Music videos and Grand Theft Auto. Suggesting for example that the solution to African famine (you've also said words to the effect that Africans are incapable of running countries - because its typical of black people) is for the starving people to move to where the food is.

It would be funny if you weren't so serious about it, and if you didn't take yourself so seriously in the bargain.

I am a face to face kind of guy. So yes on a forum it is hard to get across exactly what I am trying to say. But this doesn't change the fact that the antagonistic approach some members have. Now if we are posting in a funny oriented thread, yeah sure no problem, even attacks are fine. But when someone like VW or myself are trying to legitimately state a point and first post is a direct personal attack, from the same handful of residents, what do you expect me to think.

You mention minorities but how may times do I follow minority posters and post for the sole reason of antagonizing or insulting them? I don't. I also generally don't agree with pro illegal alien views and have my own opinion on the cause of crime and base this on the comparison of laws, attitudes etc to that of Aus and other countries I have lived in.

No one's opinion should signal a green light for certain others to attack. If you don't agree or don't care don't post. Only those interested in genuine conversations should post.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Unlike you whose every post has been on topic? And how did I antagonize you? There were no insults at all. I don't think I've had one TOS violation tonight.

Dude you follow people around and joke on their posts.

I don't mind a bit of fun and can certainly handle a lot of bull #######. What I don't like is being stalked, corned and antagonized. Only to be suspended or banned when I punch back.

Within the last year, most of my posts are followed by a resident clown who simply wants to antagonize.

I didn't know joking was a violation. I get suspended often enough too, unfairly too. Did you ever consider what you say brings those reactions from people? Obviously you do it intentionally, to get the desired reaction. Nobody comes to an American immigration forum and critcizes the US with every post and expects people to accept it as their opinion. You know perfectly well why you do it. To antagonize. And then you cry foul? Please.

Bump. Is what I have stated in the above post untrue?
