I disagree, alot of good conversations take place here.

I disagree, unfortunately. Rarely is there even anything on here worth commenting on between the infighting, the personal jabs and the silly topics.

But I digress and let the OP & Friends return to the original topic.

I kinda agree, and kinda don't treble.

73.8% of OT is just loads of #######.... but very entertaining and (unfortunately) quite addictive.

9.6% is meaningful, educational, and uplifting.

14.4% is terrific n00bz pwning Acshun!

And if that doesn't add up to 100%, it's because my random number generator is on the fritz

In light of this new news I must still disagree.

What gets me is when people come in to a thread and say something along the lines "when is this silly thread going to end", if people are taking the time and energy to put there thoughts down I say show some respect.

Respect is earned, not given without merit. If you post a thread and cite a legitimate reference then the thread will be treated with some respect, at least for a few posts. There is always going to be people who will post their snide comments on both sides. I completely agree with TheTreble about most not being worth the effort. But to some of us, it's quite entertaining.

Yes people will come in and make comments like what I mentioned. I still thinks its rude. You dont need to site a legitimate reference to be treated with respect, if your giving your opinion, thoughts or side of the story and being sincere theres no need for somebody to come in and call it silly. This happens all the time. Those people need to be called out and thats what im doing. If people are spending there time and energy to put there thoughts out there I find it disrespectful to come in and say its a silly thread without making a comment about it or say nothing at all.

Well, if I see that someone has posted a thread where the cited article is from some yellow journalist blog (no names necessary) then i'll point that fact out. If you're going to post #######, then you're going to get the same in responses.

Its very hard to show "respect" for craziness like this. It just amazes me that people go totally off the deep end when it comes to ridiculous guff like this.

So am I to understand you think I went of the deep end or are you just joking?

As an Israeli, I am really, really insulted.

Is it too late to retract my vote for Obama and cast it for Ron Paul instead? :P

As an Israeli, you shouldn't have voted for Obama in the first place.

Unless, of course, you're one of those... self-loathing Arab-sympathizing Jews who believe

in "peace" with the Palestinians.

:o:o:o:o:o:o

:dance::dance::dance:

mawilson isn't too far off the mark.. at least as far as many of my friends and family are concerned.

Let's just say they think of me as that poor, misguided one who just doesn't know any better.....

I don't know if I believe in "peace". At this point I'd settle for some kind of stable co-existence that doesn't involve convulsions of warfare every few years.

I was there during the Scud attacks in 1991, the Lebanon war in 2006, and during the bus/cafe bombing campaigns of the mid 1990s. During the bus/cafe bombings of 2002-2003 I was living in the US, but riveted to the news, obviously. None of those experiences were any fun at all. In 2006 we lived in Haifa which was getting hit daily all during July. There were strikes within about a mile or two of our house, and we were running with the kids up and down to the miklat (bomb shelter) constantly. I've lived the violence there.

I really think we have to find a way to do better than that.

And, yup, I voted for Obama partly out of the conviction that Bush had done virtually nothing for 8 years in the region. Both sides there need a little "tough love" to get to a different place.

BTW - my voting record in Israel has been either Meretz (pretty far left) or Kadimah in 2006 (centrist). My politics are consistent in both countries.

(For the historical record, I always voted Liberal in Canada, but haven't voted there since the mid 1990s).

As to the "shoe" thing -- get real people. It's just a gag. There is no "shoe" offense in Israel society. Israelis all wear smelly sandals that they're happy to put up on your desk at the office. At least Obama is wearing nice shiny loafers, that's class, baby!

...don't forget you are also a member of the Commies for Christ, here.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It's obviously high time this thread got diverted to its proper purpose, namely to post Darth Vader pix :P

darth-vader1.jpg

Pike and Rob+Mel .. knock it off! Post pix now. That's the true reason OT exists.
