Local office PCC they won't issue till they see check list from NVC and so does the passport office.

So to get around the system we tried our luck, i send I-130 approval letter to india and we went to passport office on first week of june, ( Even thaugh they required original approval letter we got away with copy of it and submited form to get passport office PCC. We received the PCC from passport office in 4 days.

Now to get district level PCC, we used the NVC letter ( in which they ask to fill out DS-3032, which has my spouse address of india) and i created one word document listing that we need district level PCC and attached it to that letter. We took color printout so that it look original. ( As the district office need somethign in writing that says that we need PCC from them).

And guess what it worked, they gave the package to be signed by local police station, than local police station will send that to district again and we will collect it from the district office in twoo- 3 days).

NOw what the Rep from NVC told me that i can send packet without local PCC and if they need ( for passport which is more than 6 month old) they will issue REF. and i think that might delay your case or migh t not.

The process waitingforhoney went through is very similar to what my wife had to do.

FYI...if your wife/husband has the passport PCCs and or local PCCs in hand, they can simply email you color scans of the documents (front and back), and then you can print them out with a color laser printer and send that to NVC. Then he or she can take the original local and passport PCCs to the interview.

I and other memebers of VJ used this when we went through NVC a couple of months ago. It will save you a weeks worth of time.

Hope this helpes!!

I say, start PCC process as soon as you hear that your I-130 application is approved. I know some places in India requires checklist and stuff, but not all does. So if you can get PCC without showing any immigration documents, step on it as soon as you find out you're petition is approved.

yes and the place in India tht requires Checklist is Gujarat... Ahmedabad.. so if you are from Gujarat wait till DS-3032 and I'd say give it a shot with NOA2.. you never know...

as far as translation goes Lawyer would be good... they have all the readymade documents, they just need to put in the informations..

and about local PCC .. if you are from Gujarat.. or anywhere .. for your wife to get Regional PCC she will require District level PCC first...

Finally at the passport office in Ahmadabad.. they accepted my wife's application for PCC.. she will receive her PCC my saturday.. So i'll probably wait to send in documents till Monday, so that she can send me scanned copy of the Regional PCC and I can attach that mentioning that original will be provided at the time of interview..

How does that sound..

Following intervie preparation document for Mumbai embassy has note (on last page) that says that you will need interview letter to get Passport office PCC. So you can submit your IV package without submitting PCC from Passport office.
