Im in the same boat, my wife has to wait for interview letter to get PCC from Ahmadabad. They usually return passport in 1 week after it has been submitted.

Did u apply K3 visa or only I-130, because if they schedule our cas for Interview(for K3), we can use that letter and apply for PCC. According to Mumbai consulate we need to fill out first package 3 with fees and after they issue date for interview. :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Let me know if u get interview date for K-3 or CR-1

yyahooo.. VIsa Approved " congratulation, tamane visa aapavama aave che"

:jest::jest::jest::jest: B) :D:rolleyes::):dancing::dancing::dancing:

Thing went smoothly except one problem..we have to wait a long time.

here is how everythign went...

My wife was at embassy at 5.50 AM with one person in front of her. They all went inside the consulate at 7.00 am. Now inside , tehy haev different section for immigrant visa and no immigrant visa.

She was called initially and wasa returned all the document they took in VFS office a week back, and told to wait. NOw this wait was huge , she wasn't called till around 3.00 in the after noon.

She was asked some question

She looked at papers and asked

1) what is your marriage date?

2) when did your husband came from usa for marriage? how many days before marriage?

3) does he came to india for your interview?

4) where is he live right now?

Waht she told me is, there were one lady ( for CR1 visa as well) they questioned here for 1 hour than told her to wait and again called her for more questioned for another hour..and eventhan they didn't give her the visa. i guess this kind of stuff delayed her number tobe called upon soon.

When she was called , interview was over in 10 min

they asked following question

1) where does your husband work?

2) how does he go to wrok?

3) what kind of car he drives?

4) did you see him last time?

5) do you have photos from his last visit?

6) do you have marriage photos?

Ans than the magic words...afte waiting for about 8 hour inside embassy..

Congratulation , your visa is approved. " Congratulation, tamane visa aapavama aave che"

i might be missing few more question will update you guys once i talked to my wife

many Congratulations.... Very Very Happy for you...

I have an issue with the PCC requirement as my wife is currently out of India visiting her parents. Her locality is South India and I was wondering if it is possible for us to get the PCC from the Passport Office, use that to fulfill the NVC PCC requirement and state in the cover letter to the NVC that we will submit the regional PCC during the interview. Or is it not possible to obtain a PCC from the Passport Office without a regional PCC?

Thanks!

If I remember regional PCC is Passport Office Police Clearance. You will need to get District Police Clearance (local PCC) and can submit a photocopy of that to NVC and state that you will provide originals of both the local PCC and Passport PCC at time of interview.

Is it possible to obtain either one of these PCCs without having to be present in India?

LOL, true if you were in India for that long with her you would be giving good news. :)

I'll check out the previous pages for VFS. I just got a checklist in the email for Passport PCC and they said to bring it to interview. At least Passport Office will give us the PCC with this checklist instead of waiting for interview letter.

Wishing your wife a smooth journey into the US
