My wife's IR1 case was comepleted at NVC the same day 07/10/2009. They told me the same thing, they don't have any interview dates available for the month of August.

So I think we are in the same boat. Please keep us posted when you hear from them about the interview date.

Rs 5000 is way more than my husband paid for the medical process.... I guess prices of everything are rising so why not of this... He paid Rs. 2200.

Hi guys.. got my noa2 on 16th.. what do u say can i go n apply for PCC now or should i wait untill we get the NVC check list?? okay one more question.. someone has told me i should go to Baroda for local PCC first then i can get PCC from Ahmadabad, is it? does anyone got their PCC from Ahmadabad throw agent?? lol i know its a lot of questions, i really don't understand what to do now.. i m kind of really nervous.. I have put my married name in I-130 so do i have to change the name in passport too?? Sorry guys a lot of questions.. hopefully someone have all the answers for me.. thanks in advance..

my friend spouse came from baroda few months bach, what they did is, they took the print out of NVC letter( which they will mail. you, that NVC has received your case and send Ds-3032 ) take print out of that email, insetred a page saying that they need police clearace certificate ( copied the stuff from NVC website). They have to do this as Police told they need somethign in wring from NVC.

read post from Desidon and Waitingfohoney ...to get PCC from Ahmedabad office. ( i got mine with teh copy of NOA-2 from surat passport office).

You can try the same letter to Ahmedabad office and try to get the PCC form their.

Also you should change the name in paaport , doing so you won't need the pocal police PCC. But keep in mind that it will take some time before you will get the new passport.( Unless you go for express service).

Yes, NVC wont be needing the local PCC, if you passport is within last 6 month. but you should definitely change the name on the passport that is 1 more proof after the marriage certificate.

But for your concern, to get Regional PCC you definitely will need Local PCC.. do not go on trying any tricks.. I wasted a month in doing that. so simply apply for for Local PCC and you can send your DS-230 with PCC mentioning that "it will be brought at the time of Intercview"... Dont waste time in arguing... because NVC is fast... so Please start the PCC process... NOW...

@desidon dear i already apply for new name on the passport now.. do u still think i should go for local PCC? i know i m asking a lot of question.. i was so confuse what to do next, none here to advice me, hubby is Basically American so he don't know obviously about any process here and my relatives At US only go throw from Surat PCC office so they didn't go throw all what we r going throw. Now i m the only one who have to do alone by my self and its making me confuse by reading all the PCC forums here.. anyways i don't wanna go into too much deep, i already applied for new name so now i m gonna apply for PCC Ahmadabad too.. If u think i m doing something wrong please correct me..

You can go ahead and try applying PCC at Ahmadabad, but before you'll have to wait for passport to come as they will take you passport to create the PCC for you and send it in Mail...

But on the other note.. once you receive new passport, for you to get Regional PCC from Ahmadabad, you'll need to get the local PCC.( apparently, NVC does not require that local PCC if you passport creation date is within last 6 months), but in your case its a name change.

So if I were you then I would atleast start the Local PCC process, and here is the reason:

1. Your passport has a name change and its not brand new passport (because brand new passport goes through Local police inquiry and all)

2. Regional Passport office wont make a step without a Local PCC (which is the document they use to produce the Regional PCC)

In short, start the Local PCC process till the name changed passport comes...

You are right, Letter in email is good enough for you to go ahead and take appointment, there is nothing so important in Packet 4, we have all the information Online so dont worry you are good.

Bombay Embassy, will send you the Interview letter(we already got in email), DS-230 blank forms (no use to us, suppose to be packet 3, we already completed), Medical information (Hospital and Doctors and fees), and VFS (office location and payment information) information. basically this is called packet 3 and 4.

When we did hte name change in passoprt, it 's not just a name change in old passport, they issues us a new passport and it went through whole process of going through local police station.

The New passport number was differnt than the old one.

I don't think so that surat passport office work differentaly than ahmedabad.
